New mods. whats worth it and whats not?!?

You could skip all of it. The electric fan is the only thing that could potentially free up some horsepower. I wouldn't bother with the MSD unless you're running a worn out points dizzy. Oil cooler is a complete waste unless you do heavy towing or participate in lengthy open track sessions.

If you're serious about perfromance, ditch the edelbrock performer stuff and step it up a notch. If you're running an auto trans, invest in a nice torque converter. Maybe put in a trac-lok or something too.

first get the electric fan. since you live it FL I think your car will love you for it if you get stuck in traffic (and it will free up maybe five horsepower). If your oil temp is getting too hot, then invest in a deep pan that holds more oil. the extra surface area (and extra oil) will help keep it cool, and you will reduce windage losses ( vs. if you have a stock pan). Both will help a little with power, efficiency, and reliability.

I agree on the performer statement.

I really like the MSD stuff. Changed from a Mallory Unilite and noticed a big difference.

Best areas to spend money on with a Ford SB is in the heads, intake, carb and cam!

I'm with mustangman. I think of all the things you mentioned, you would notice the box for sure. My start up is easier, cruise and WOT is all noticably better. But your butt dyno may or may not notice, depending on how acustomed to your car you are.:)

the electric fan and the msd ignition are good additions. the oil cooler is also a good addition, but not really necessary. that said however, i will do all three ultimately, though i will likely use the dui ignition rather than the msd.

What fan is on the car now? I like thermostat clutch fans for hot weather, I used to live in Tx. They mostly freewheel unless there is excessive heat. If you are using one now, I doubt you will notice a difference, and I don't think any electric fan will move as much air.

yeah ill go with the electric fan. i have the performer intake and carb. aswell as a mild compatition cam.
what do you guys think about the higher riser intakes on a small block? judging on my mods do you think i would gain anything by getting a taller intake mani with a slightly bigger carb. even though the setup i have now i absolutly love (very reliable. remember this isnt a crazy track car but i do like to beat all the gt guys around my area
