ok guys, i recently put together a PI motor with self ported heads, windsor cams, and some bolt ons. its throwing a o2 code which will be fixed tomorrow but it still isnt as fast as i would like it to be, it seems with the heads its more of a higher rpm lover now, but he cams arnt helping at all, which i have some, just waiting on spring and tune money..

but would it hurt at all to try out the vic jr. after i get my cams in? and somewhere down the line i will put in some lt's.

but i really want to try this intake out bad!! i think it would really scream with the cams and intake, am I wrong?

just looking to make it a contender finally, instead of high 13's

I would wait until you get it out to the track to jump to any conclusions. What are your ET/MPH goals? What were you trapping previous to the headswap? What is your full list of go fast mods? Why didn't you just wait until you had the funds and go with aftermarket cams while the motor is apart?

Self ported heads? I dont mean to be rude or offensive......but do you have any idea how to port heads or are you just some guy with a Dremel tool and too much time on his hands? I mean no offense, but I always cringe when I hear "self ported anything".

+1. I would never port heads myself. I'll leave those responsibilities to Trickflow

if you go with the victor, plan on revving 6500+ to make good power, get a set of MHS cams, and 4:30's

with my victor jr. & MHS stage 3.5 cams, it does not want to run below 2500rpms, that setup really turns it into a high rpm motor, even with 4:30's at 45mph in 5th gear it will still "chug" i need more GEAR!

Well you don't exactly have a performance build, so don't get too discouraged.

Stock Windsor cams are absolutely nothing special at all. It's a stock PI cam in ported (how much???) PI heads.

With bolt ons only, you're still a bolt on GT with ported heads and stock cams, and I assume no tune since the rebuild.

If you ported the heads well it will still be restricted by using stock cams. A healthier set of cams and longtubes (even on a non-ported head) will wake the car up a bit. The stock intake manifold WILL support those mods just fine, it actually flows really well.

it pulls much harder now than it ever has, and i still have the stock plenum and tb on it!! (my other got ripped off )

i also have some custom ground comps, just not in yet, becasue of stock manifolds, springs and stock plenum and no tune!!

well i dont really have an e.t. goal, but an ass satisfaction goal i guess lol.
it was going 101mph with just pi cams and intake and 4.10's, i would like 110-12 mph on motor, and possibly put a 100 shot on it..

well im still fighting this low rpm random miss, but at WOT the car is really starting to come alive!! i ran some mostly stock ls1 cars on a closed course last night and took down all of em, i was pulling them up top as well, so it should mph pretty decent, as before it wouldnt do this at all..
