I just about have a finished prototype of a "281" fender emblem that would replace the stock "GT" on both fenders. I was originally doing this for my car as a one off bit but Im begining to see that the graphic design may be accepted by the mainstream.

Once im done with the final hand sanding of the plastic piece i'll have it painted in chrome and temp taped to the stock location. The finished product will have the option of a pair of alignment pegs so it could possibly be mounted elsewhere.

My question to you folks...
Would you rather see the final CNCed product made from Billet Aluminum or Plastic?

I will post pictures of the badge/emblem tomorrow afternoon.

looks good, but I would prefer a 4.6 badge in Billet Aluminum, I think more people relate to 4.6 then 281 (I have over heard someone ask what S281 on a Saleen stands for at a car show)

do a survey, have a choice!
That said, I like my stock GT emblems

Im going to eventually work on a 4.6 emblem too. I'll work something else into it too (like SOHC) with the same graphic design as the above.

There are companys that already make all of the above mentioned badges. (see newest 5.0 mag). "281" sounds wimpy. I would like a stroker kit so I could use the good 'ol 5.0 badge. Or 5.8 like my old ride. BADGES? WE DONT NEED NO STINKING BADGES!!!

Looks nice, but "281" just doesn't sound mean enough. It's not like like have 6.0 389 or 400 displayed.

Pro/Cons? I dont really think that it matters more than one material is more expensive than the other.

I would prefer (were I in the market billet) further I think the 281 sounds sweet.

Being as I'm on a waiting list with deposit holding for the new gt500 neither applies
