Just purchased, as in yesterday, a 1987 Mustang LX Convertible 5.0
So far car is awesome except for mild idle surge issue which I've already been researching.
I'll be sure to have questions going forward

Very unusual color, nice score!
First thing I'd do is go through all the vacuum lines and replace as necessary, most idle issues are bad vacuum lines.

I've already perused that thread, a wealth of information there.
According to what I've been able to research there were only 170 of this color and only 70 convertibles.
The car has zero rust, including the undercarriage, and all original besides the wheels. Remarkable for a northern car. Obviously has never seen snow or salt.
