trust me..once all the goodies are under the hood, and you drop the hammer, you won't care if your making 300 or 315 at those wheels..only that you can keep it straight down the road. 600 miles on my motors clock to date, and after FINALLY giving into my urges to drop the hammer (breaking in the clutch as well) I can say nothing but WOW what a blast to rip on!!!!!...a good H/C/I setup (which yours is IMO) is just incredible to drive. You will also notice no matter where you go (internet not included) when they hear the car, and you tell them what you have, they will be very impressed. Every single time I'm out at the local week cruise I get a bucket of compliments, and nothing else...that's how it should be in the rodding community.

when i first heard this i was amazed at the specs, they are odd. But the guy is smart, he told me with this cam and because 5.0s are so light the powerband doesnt need to be peaky, just broad to carry the light car.

That cam is the Comp XE270HR-14, i have it and it is an ok cam if i would do it over i would go with somthing with more duration such as the TFS1. It idles like stock but pulls nicely once it is in the powerband. I could tell the difference between it and stock, it is a nice cam but i dont think it would be a good match for your AFRs it is really a stock replacement cam.

The stage one cam is not very good, it's no better than an E, you are going to be leaving alot of HP on the table.
Return it and get a custom, or poll the guys here.
Not saying that it sucks to be hurtful, but you won't even be close to the potential the heads have. And i'd hate to see you have to dig into the engine to do the cam twice.

TFS stage 1 is no better than an E-cam? What have you been smoking my friend? The stage 1 is dual pattern and actually works better with the 302 Ford than the e-cam does. After driving my friends car who has pretty much the same setup as me, except with the stage 1 and not the crane 2040 (same as e-cam), I wish I went with the stage 1. I could definately feel a difference from the better quality idle to the better power. IMO, the TFS stage 1 is a much better off-the-shelf cam than the e-cam.

Do you know how a pipe wrench works?

BTW you are being an a$$...

A pipe wrench is for plumbers not tensioners. Use the right tool for the right job. I can only imagine how much damage you do to parts when trying to install them. I really wasn't being an a$$ but now I am.

Interesting i'm the one smoking something but you can feel the difference which is very minimal in the two cams. I guess you are also one of those guys that felt a difference with a mac cold air kit. Ever think that your buddy's car is just faster? There is way too many variables to judge someone elses car vs yours.

I'm not going to make anymore of an argument in Decks post as to the cam, he has it, he wants it, it's his car. That's cool with me.

I probably do less damage than you. By the way it's up to me to choose what tool I use on my car. So far nothing is broken. Owned.

I was just trying to be helpful in my original post. There are correct ways to work on these cars and that was my point. It's sad to look at your site and read how you "ghetto" the parts to fit. Take your time and you'll be happier with your $1500 investment. I do wish you the best of luck with the install.

By the way tunedin, if you took the time to actually read the site (I know its extensive) you'll notice that I am very careful even with the smallest details. So you can stop hating now. Thanks

Hmmm.. No.

At some points when things get installed, stuff does get messy but that is normal. No one is as rich as you and can afford people to do their work.

It'll sound better when your actually standing by you car though.

I remembered listening toa b-cam clip on the net and then i heard a real b-cammed car idle, DAMN, the car i actually heard sounded really good, the car should sound bigger than it actually is.
