New personal best 1/4!!! PICS!!!

Took the car out for the first time in almost two years today :rlaugh: for a car club track event!!! I got a set of ET streets to replace my ET street radials to be a bit softer on the drivetrain...and I don't know what everybody complains about them being hard to drive, they were fine for me the whole way down the track!!! :D I out tree'd everyone I raced, even guys cutting better 60's; I still cut a light, and I won 2 outa 3 races against my friends blown 97 cobra even though he traps 3mph higher than me (both of us on street tires)....

Anyway... I ran a best of 12.28@115mph with a 1.7 60ft launching at the rev limiter (6150RPM). If I had a suspension setup not suited to road racing I would have been into the elevens with a 1.6 60ft for sure, but alas I don't, heh... Also, I'm still on stock clutch, stock 04 rear end with a couple bushing kits and a diff brace, and stock 04 3650. Literally, I launched and kept my foot down the whole time. This is AS MUCH as this car has in it with the suspension setup.... if I had a more forgiving setup it would have pulled the front, I think (with some weight reduction). I pulled the front sway bar also, which helped ALOT in weight transfer!!!:flag: Oh yeah, also I ran a new personal best 60ft on street tires at 1.89 on Fuzion HRi all seasons in 245/45/17 (that's a 400 treadware all season ROFL!!!).

Anyway...here are some pics of me racing/launching with the IRS with road race suspension and MT et streets LOL

Great times, you keep going to track and you will forget about selling your car. Also what size are those MT, are they the 26x10.5x17. Just wondering, because I am looking at getting a set.

26x11.50x17 - they are only rated for an 8.5" wheel, but all the GTO guys run them on an 8" wheel so I figured why not? I'm not making enough power to spin the tire on the wheel, so its no big deal IMO. :rlaugh:

Thanks for the encouragement guys! I still want an 11 out of the stock block, but with the added weight and subsequent relatively crappy 60's (I need a 1.60) it just isn't gonna happen at these power levels. I'm tossing around the idea of respringing the car, one because it will handle awesome no matter what with the IRS and the max motors setup, two because it would really help with weight transfer and getting those 60fts down, and three because it would encourage me to drive the car daily a bit more if it wasn't quite as harsh :nice:

Awsome times man and also good seeing you again.

I wish I could have posted my new best time also but spinning almost to the 1/8 mile mark didn't help. Oh and the whole breaking thing and getting one run in didn't either. LOL

Where did you get those pics? Was it from the guy that was going around taking them?

Yeah there is a post on the local forum, and my car club had a video crew there filming everything too so there will be a DVD later :D heres the link to the pics: http://www.indycarz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=130933

nice, my best time is a 13 flat on my sumitomos....spinning through 2nd gear doesnt help much...cant wait to get a set of dr's

I ran 12.60's on street tires :) My first time out, two years ago, I ran 13.0 - it just takes practice slipping the clutch on the launch, then laying into it JUST the right amount :nice:

I have a guy who might want to buy the car...but i don't know if I can let it go anymore :rlaugh:
