New plugs, wires, dist cap and rotor, now randomly stalling

So I replaced my plugs, gapped to .054, wire, dist cap and rotor, and changed fuel filter…… the plugs I removed were autolite and the wires were Ford racing, I replaced everything with motorcraft parts. Car was running perfect , took it out for a long run and it randomly shut off at 50 mph…… Rpm’s drop out and it dies…… key off and re crank and it starts up and continues on until the next time it dies. It’s never done this before so I’m going to assume it’s something to do with the new parts….what would cause these symptoms?

So some information on the car would help...year, motor, trans, mods, etc. Also, have you checked for codes? The CEL only illuminates for emissions related codes so non-emissions codes can be present.

I'd start with puting the old cap and rotor back on see if it still does it, and inspect the rotor seen a few new ones pretty much falling apart after little useage. Honestly I avoid newer motor craft ignition parts now for old push rod stuff.. Could be something else failing but never hurts to try the old parts.

I’ll try that when it gets dark tonight…… I pulled codes and it’s alot of them…… koer- 41,43,72,54
Koeo-15,85,10,18,41,29,33….. the 72 has to do with the maf, and 54 w/ intake it looks like…… I did remove the intake when swapping plugs….. will the maf cause the car to intermittently fall flat on its face?

Lol….. I love this car but it drives me nuts sometimes…… I put the old dist cap, rotor and wires back in ……. Long ride and zero Miss or shut down ….. must have been an issue with the new motorcraft parts….. I’ll put some more miles on it and see if it holds….. next question, what does everyone recommend for cap, rotor and wires? Car has msd, stock distributor…. Should I do msd stuff or is there something else guys like?

Car had it when I got it….. I honestly couldn’t care less if it’s there or not. It has heads, cam, roller rockers, cobra upper and lower, msd…. Not sure as far as injectors or anything else…. I’m not trying to blow it up so I drive it easy anyway. I just want it to be reliable and run decent for the time being before the motor gets torn into or swapped
