New points system for NASCAR

Starting this season the points system has been drastically revamped. One point separates finishing position with 1st place getting 43, second 42 and so on. Three points for wins and one point for each of leading a lap, leading the most laps and starting from the poll.

The Chase stays with a little change but to me, with the new system, the Chase system is not needed.

I remember suggesting that points system back in the 90's. I also remember saying that tracks with 2 pit roads should have everyone enter on side and use the apron to take away the front pits advantage under caution. Bristol did that, while Martinsville spent a lot of money. Maybe I should run for NASCAR president!

I'm wondering if they reset the points for the Chase? What if 100 points separate 1-20 at Chase time? Realistically the guy in 20th could get on a roll and overtake #1 in three races.

if you add up all bonus points, and win the race, you get 48 points.
