I recently purchased a 1973 Mustang Convertible and looking forward to tinkering/restoring it. I can and love to do my own work, but need help from time to time. Manuals are my best friend. Could someone lead me to a publication that could guide me through replacement of the top? Also looking for a reputable, cost conscious source for a replacement top. Thanks for any and all help. I look forward to sharing on the StangNet.

I have a 1972 convertible, and I replaced the top myself. It kinda looks like it too.

It isn't a job to be taken lightly. I'm marking it up to experience, and figure that in a few years it will need a top again, and I'll do a better job.

There aren't any really good instructions that I found. The closest is in the original Ford manuals, the body volume. The best advice I can give you is to take your time, and never think "tight" is "tight enough."

I bought my replacement top from Dallas Mustang. There a a million vendors out there, and I was basically looking for the lowest cost since I expect to be doing it again in a few years anyway.

I'm not much into picture taking, but I do have a few pictures with the top stripped so you can see what you will be up against. If you're interested, just let me know.
