My dad is a service manager at a Marina, so growing up I was always spoiled with boats and PWCs.

Now that I live 2 hours away from them, I don't quite get to take advantage of that near as much...

man you make me miss being on the water. when i was a kid we had a 28' (i think, something like that) carver out on the mississippi that we would spend the weekends on, and a little 16' newman we would cruise around with when the big sucker was broke, on the lake, and after we sold it. was trying to talk my folks into going halves on another runabout, but they traded their ranger in on a pos equinox instead

Got some progress done to the boat this past Friday night...

This is after 2 of 3 steps.

BEFORE: Chalky after sitting for a while.

TEST: Tried by hand, and it had potential.

AFTER: Not 100% done, but two of three steps down, waxing to go.

Interior pictures... It needs a good cleaning, but I plan to make sure shes in the water before I get too crazy with that. I have new carpet, fabric and plan for some woodwork down below.

Are the interior appliances like the microwave, all 12V? What does the stove top run on? Is the fridge electric? Gas/electric? Is there a fridge? lol


What other stuff does a boat that size have? I mean appliance wise... air conditioning?


Sorry for all the lame questions... I was thinking about looking into a boat about that size for me and Momma to get away in occationally. Didn't know if they come equipped like RVs or what.

All appliances are 12V. The stove is electric and propane I believe, there is a fridge, the head has a shower. This boat does not have AC but you can get them with generators and AC.

The size would be good for weekends, possibly a short week, but any more and you would most likely be cramped. There is about 6'4" of headroom and the beds are a good size. The head even has over 6' of headroom.

Different boats will offer different things. I liked this one for the inboard motors, and the roomy cabin. Not all 29' boats offer that, some less, some more.

i like it. the undercoat is in okay shape too. its pretty much perfect to load up with food and beer and go anchor out for a weekend. keep posting pics of it the more and more you get it cleaned. that covering that goes over the back is going to be worth its weight in gold in the rain for sure.

Does the fridge operate like those in an RV? I mean... Gas operated until you're hooked to an external power source?


Thanks for the info... I've got a little time to get started looking. My current location has me land locked but that's going to hopefully change later this year.

I believe the fridge runs off the batterys, but when tied into shore power it runs off that.

I should be at the boat this Saturday for a while, hoping to finish the exterior, and then start on the wood refinishing in the cockpit.

Was only able to head to the boat for a bit on Saturday. Got there around 8:15-8:30 am and went to town. Had to leave at 12:00 noon though. Got the port side hull through step one and two. Then went back around 4:30-5:00 and was able to wax the hull, from the blue down. Washed the top sides to get them ready for the 3 step process...

Here was how the boat looked after a wash. Chalky and spotty as to be expected.

Started at the transom and worked forward with the Oxidation Remover:

Also started on the blue top side. This was the worst area, and if/when I get into it, I plan to repaint this white, I am not a fan of the blue.

Wasn't able to get overall shots of the port side, due to time restraints. But I got some of the Starboard side. This is before waxing it, and before polishing the Blue top side stripe.
