I have a 2003 Mustang GT that I'm going to be autocrossing this year. The car sits on no-name lowering springs with blown OEM shocks. I'd like to build a decent suspension without going down the more expensive Eibach route. I'd love to get the more expensive stuff but I still need money in the budget for frame rail reinforcements and a few other things. I figure the springs I have are good enough to handle a few autox races in the summer, I just need to find a shock that can be installed with lowering springs without blowing. So to that end, can anyone recommend a good shock? Most of what I found was either really aggressive track-oriented stuff or just OEM replacements. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've used the Strange 10-ways as a budget option for street / handling.

I've heard good things about the Koni shocks.

KYB Japanese version, if your pockets are tight. If the car is lowered you are still gonna' feel every nodule in the streets, I go with longevity instead of performance.

I have used the strange as well. The only downside is that they can be a little noisy.
