New sway bar. What a difference!!

I bought an 1 1/8 inch sway bar a few months back and just installed it today.
As you can see it looks mean compared to my stock 5/8" bar.

I read before about how much difference it made while cornering and didn't think it would affect me that much since I dont drive it too hard, but boy was I wrong. Cornering feels smooth now and my stang doesn't feel like its a big boat anymore.
I highly recommend a sway bar for those who don't own one yet. I'm thinking about getting a monte carlo bar next. Thanks everyone for a good call on the sway bar!!

My uncle gave me a 1 1/8" sway bar from his Mach 1 because he upgraded, and I put it on my car. I was amazed how much better it felt, I didn't think i'd even notice.

What's the thoughts on rear sway bars then? I have a 1 1/8" front but nothing back there. I use the car for spirited road driving.

I don't have a rear bar because of exhaust/clearance/ virgin frame drilling issues, so I compensate with spring.

My thoughts are that you want your car to be close to neutral in handling. That means that the front and rear tires will both lose grip at about the same time during cornering. It seems like a vague answer, but every car is different depending on the tires, springs, engine, model, etc.

So when you take a really hard corner, if the front end just pushes and the rear is never close to breaking loose, a rear sway can help. If the rear will break loose fairly easily with a little throttle or all four give at about the same time, a rear sway bar will slow your car down.
