well I had a 73mm C&L and made a home made cold air intake deal, I call it a air sucky tube. Any way I am going to be using a tweecerR/T for tuning and running a J4J1 (cobra) based program. The only reason I had the C&L was since I had 24# inj. Now since it is going to be way easier to tune with the stock meter (since it is flowed already from ford in the eec) I needed to get an air filter on the end of the meter. I did not want to drill holes into yet another K&N filter as some have done, my K&N is a 12in long unit that has a clamp end on it.

1. I used a piece of 1/4 in plexiglass and made a template/outline'd the stock meter with a marker.
2. Then I used a dremel with a dril bit to cut out the basic outline and center hole along with bolt holes.
3. I then put the 1/4 plexiglass plate up to a 3in. piece of PVC pipe and made another outline/template.
4. Enlarging the air intake port hole to make a tight fit around the PVC pipe agian with the dremel tool, and cleaning up the edges.
5. Fitting the tube into the hole, by wiggling it on and making sure the pipe and plate was as flush as possible.
6. Sanded the pipe to get a flush surface with the plate.
7. I ended up using clear window/door silicone to seal up the plate/tube as the can of PVC adhesive dried up, so I will see how this works for now.
8. Cut the PVC tube to the length you want, and if you want more support to the tube cut another 1/4 plate to double the mounting area (with one piece it is preaty snug and solid though).
9. paint/or not
10. mount filter and install.

looks nice just need to finish cutting the tube to the length I need and I am set.

Just though it was a good idea and an option for those wanting to do a home made CAI.
