Hey guys/ gals. I just got back from HMP(1/8). I told myself, my girlfriend, and everybody else that I was going to wait till spring to run my car. Since I wasn't drinking beer watching the games today, I couldn't resist the urge to head out to the track. The weather was 74* with 77% humidity when I left my house. It did cool down, but I have no idea what the DA was. Any guesses? My car is 100 percent stock, with full weight, stock air filter, and the stock runflat tires(and I had case of beer in the trunk for afterwards) I made 5 passes.

worst pass(shifted into 5th gear)

1.0852
2.0338
5.4635
8.3658
83.24mph

best pass

1.2553
1.9117
5.2633
8.0382
90.82mph

I was fairly pleased with the results. I still bogged slightly on the last run so I know there is a couple tenths hiding in there with a little better launch and cooler air.

according to my chart, it is a 12.4x-12.5x. The chart was spot on my my mustang, I'm not sure if it is with the z06 and higher top end. I posted a thread on corvetteforum in the drag racing section to see if I can compare the times on the slips to others.

However, I still can't claim 12.4x-12.5x cause I haven't run it yet!

Not this weekend, though the next we will be out there with the footbrake car and the LT1 that a family member owns. If my car is up and going (will be assembling this weekend) it will also be out there.

I have a feeling that the Z06 is going to be different on the chart since it was so close on the NPI car. The vette will clearly be a second half car and pick up MPH at a much larger rate so you might surprise yourself.

Nice times.

Actually the chart should be fairly close. It was for my Mach 1 with the Procharger on it and the powerband on my car is all top end. Where a Z06 really shines in top end 140MPH+, not that mid 12's are anything to sneeze at in stock trim. With a 90 in the 1/8 you should be around 117 in the 1/4.

That's a very impressive mph. Kicks my butt. In the 1/8th, I ran 7.834 @ 88.50mph... 12.26 @ 111mph in the quarter.

I've found a good multiplier for the 1/4 mph is 1.26... so your 90.8mph x 1.26 = 114.4mph in the quarter. For the 1/4 ET: 8.04 x 1.56 = 12.54

So my 1/4 estimate is 12.54 @ 114.4 mph.

Man I would have loved to get out in the nice weather this weekend! It was cool and sunny, and I'm sure I could post up some new bests. Instead, I was winterizing the 88 (IE, painting the rusty spots and taking off the drag radials lol)

I agree, I think it would have been a mid 12 pass. The weather here in houston was not very good yesterday. I'll probably make a few more passes in the car when we get some great air and I am going to try and remove the factory air lid.

new times, or time

went to HRP tonight. DA was around 1300ft when I ran.

I made 1 pass(ridiculous lines from an event going on at the same time). I ran a 12.71 at 110mph. The car is seriously wounded. I hit every gear perfectly, and cut a 1.902 60ft on the stock runflats. The 1/8 mile speed was off 3.4 mph over last week with a 1000ft DA, and 1/8 time was an 8.29 as apposed to 8.02 last week. 3rd gear made a stuttering noise and a clunk, and just didn't pull. I have to figure out what is going on. I should have at least a 112-114mph minimum with the mph I pulled in the 1/8 last week.

Oh well, here we go again

I have a local friend that has an 08 Z06 6spd running in the low 10's. I'm not sure about all of the details for as the 60ft or MPH in the quarter. He bought the car brand new installed headers still using the factory cats & mufflers, a CAI, tune & cam upgrade. the car has 20 inch wheels on the back with street tires. I went for a ride in it & it felt like my rib cage was touching my spine when got into it from a dead stop. By the time third gear started pulling good we had to stop. There is another guy with an 03 cobra with a Kenne bell charger & C-4 & Lt's running mid 10's. When they match up at the track the cobra pulls out in front in the 60ft ( running slicks ) but by mid track it's a shame what that vettes does to that poor cobra.

awesome times man. the best way i have found to convert or get a feel for 1/4 times is go to dragtimes.com and see what others are running in the 1/4 with that 1/8th mile time. Its going to be about mid 12s though at like 117.

Car is too nice to be having problems so get that checked out first before abusing it anymore. We got some progress done on the camaro such as install the vigilante converter and the longtubes. Today we will be installing the electric water pump and doing some other misc items. We are looking to get a baseline run Friday in the car aslong as everything goes over well. Be kind and give me $200 Mark?

that's nice, but has nothing to do with my car. 2 completely diffferent cars, and his car is making more than 100rwhp over it's stock form with the mods he has. His car has 200hp over my car.

04GTMustang, these cars are good for low 12's at around 115 stock.

I know they are totally two different cars, I was just bragging on the power the vettes make including yours with little or no mods.
