It was a great night of racing at Atlanta Dragway last night as ga289stocker (David) has already posted. While he trampled his previous best by 2 1/2 tenths, I was only able to beat my previous best by 1/2 a tenth. But it was an important half a tenth that put my new best at 11.96!!!

If I floor the gas from the line I will still spin the 235 drag radials. On my 11.96 pass I made sure I was out of the hole before putting the pedal down. This only led to a 1.74 60 foot time but I had enough power to run the sub 12. If I could have matched my previous best 60 footer of 1.69 I believe I would have ran a high 11.8. Maybe with a little more practice, better burnouts, and possibly some better rear drag shocks (KYB's now).

Here was my best run:
R/T.... .188
60... 1.743
330... 4.932
1/8... 7.622
MPH... 91.55
1000... 9.964
1/4... 11.968
MPH... 111.89

A little while later I was able to get my best mph in the 1/4 and in the 1/8. But I happened to spin off the line.

R/T.... -.008(same as ga289stocker on this run...strange)
60... 1.895
330... 5.096
1/8... 7.769
MPH... 92.38
1000... 10.100
1/4... 12.096
MPH... 112.30

All that speed wrapped in in a very dignified chassis

Congratulations. That is very cool :nice:
You could just as well be showing up at a high brow restaurant in a tuxedo with Cheryl Tiegs on your arm.

Very classy for so much muscle.

Thanks guys! I was pretty darn excited about my first 11 sec. pass. Where is Cheryl Tiegs when I need her? lol

Yes I know I still have a good bit left in the 60. I have seen plenty of 13 second cars with 60 footers like mine. My best 60 foot is a 1.69 and that was rolling into the throttle just like I did last night. If I can somehow get the car to stick while nailing the throttle from the line I believe I can take an easy tenth or more off of last night's 1.74 60 foot.

I am using MT 235/60 15 drag radials. I believe I haven't been heating them up enough during my burnouts. With my old BFG's I could do a semi short burnout and they would smoke nicely. It seems like it takes longer to get these to smoke. I really like them though and have seen other cars run some FAST times with them.

What is your RPM with that 112MPH trap speed? With my 3:70 gear on the old set up I was trapping 119MPH @ 6000 RPM on an 11.28 best ET. I am going to go one night with my 3:70 to see how it does and then most likely go straight to a 4:11. My old cam was only good to 6200 and the new is up around 6600. Have to take advantage of the small stuff....

You have more in it with a gear swap considering you only have 3:55's

I am usually glancing over at the scoreboard to see my times when I cross the line but I believe I am at about 5600 or so rpm. That is definitely low and I would surely pick up some time with some steeper gears. I still drive the car about 50 miles to the track and dont want the rpms to drive me crazy on the highway. Yet....

I believe my cam is good to 6200. It is the Comp XE274H 230/236 @ .050 flat taappet cam. I have been shifting at 6000 to maybe a few hundred over that. Does that sound about right? WashMO: did you shift at 6200 with your old cam?
