tonight I ran my 97gt for the second time. Last week I ran 14.8xs at 95mph at San Antonio Raceway, Stock.

Tonight, I went to the track again. The car is a 1997gt, with 150,XXX miles on it. It has 2.73 gears in it. Since last week, I installed a set of steeda pullies, an h pipe, and drag radials.

I headed out to Houston Motorsports Park, an 1/8 track tonight..

run 1
2.17
6.18
9.46(1/8)
74.70mph

run 2
2.30
6.21
9.44(1/8)
75.85mph

both runs the tire pressure was set at 11.5-12psi. I launched the car at 4800rpm's, and both times, the car just bogged. It fell flat on its face. BFG's hook way, way more than nittos that Im used to running on.

run 3
2.06
6.01
9.24(1/8)
75.67mph

run 4
2.02
6.56
9.19(1/8)
75.77

both runs 3 and 4 were with the same tire pressure. I launched the car at 5800rpm! Ive ran drag radials for years, but couldnt imagine launching at redline on 275/40-17 inch drag radials. I guess (est) 200-215rwhp and 2.73's has a bit do with being able to launch that high. However, the car still bogged but the sixty foot did pick up a bit. Suggestions are welcomed.

Those 2.73s are killlllling you, especially with that big of a tire.

Probaly didnt even have to shift out of 2nd gear on the track, lol.

Either way, for a non-PI GT with minimal work and horrid gears your times are good!

Some stock 99+ guys cant pull 9.1's stock.

I know, it SUUUCCCKKS! I just cant justify upgrading the gears until Im ready to do the whole rearend. Its less costly.

lol, I just pmd you, proboly the same time this was posted!

Lonestar closed bc of weather..... Retarded there was no weather. The site said its open at 520 when I left, 70 min later in traffic I decided to call, closed. So I found out where Houston Motorsports was and went. Nice track if you get there early. I enjoyed it.

It's pretty much out in the middle of nowhere I tend to stick to HRP, especially if you go on a Sunday since it's mostly the same way. Very little waiting

Get that money together and get with QMS to get those gears/work done. I doubt you'll be able to beat his prices even with hookups unless something has changed

8's? that'd be crazy. I hit an 8.9 1/8th (13.88) on my 13.97 run - but im not exactly modless

2.1's arnt HORRABLE, take the psi down to 18 or so. But Infineon FTW. Weds-drags is my old stomping ground. I got into for free for working for a company that gives a case of oil to the bracket winners. Next time you're there give the head tech a big middle finger from me, thanks

If you get the skinnies you have to promise me a run with them. I don't need the radials in my little auto

http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=285393&page=3&highlight=15x8 doesn't have the weight for the rims you are looking at, though has some other numbers.
