Nitto Extreme Drag Radials. 4 pass's on the track, got them for 100$ a pair. I think it was a good purchase. No more 2nd gear burnouts

245/50/16's I think. Now that I have those, Im worried bout blowing my stock T5 with 130k on it lol. Since its now gonna get full traction in 2nd than just spin like it did prior to the D/R's

I wouldn't worry too much about blowing the tranny out, unless you really drive it hard.

I disagree about the trans, I think it is something to worry about. The WC T5 isn't strong enough for a stock engine with traction. But as long as you don't beat on it too often you will have a while before it gives out completely

He's not going to get 100% traction. I love nitto's, and the hook great...but they are not a slick. They wont spin uncontrollably when speed/power shifting at his h/p levels, but the probably will spin slightly. I'm on my second set of nitto dr's with well over 100 runs on the firs set alone. I still have my stock 200k+ mile tranny.

I have them as well but paid full price for them. You dont really need to roast them to get them to stick. A small burnout will do just fine I have noticed. I melted my first pair doing huge burnouts so it would stick and it stuck no better than a small, 5 second burnout. Just some advice to think about/try on ur own.

5 seconds is by no means a small burnout. I have to mentally count in my head 5-7 seconds while doing a second gear burnout, as it seems longer when your doing it than when your watching. I've found second gear the best for getting them nice and sticky, as the tires will spin quicker…and heat up quicker as a result.
