New to 05 GT help plz!

05 gt , cold air intake, headers, cat back exhaust, magnaflow muffs. i ran a 14.1 at 99 with a 60' time of 2.1. doesnt sound right for these cars. not sure if it had a tune but it doensnt sound like it with the et and mph. does the tune make that big of diff? Also it doesnt seem like i have a new gear but, the speedo is off and i went throught the traps at 6300 rpm in 3rd if the speedo is off, how can i fix it?
I baught the car with the owner only knowing the obvious. so im not sure what was done to it, i cant find the original owner. plz help

Your 60' time is way too slow. Practice launching. You'll easily be in the 13s no question. Throw on some suspension stuff - LCA's etc. - and I think you should be in the low 13s.

With cold air intake (unless it is a K&N which doesn't require a retune) and headers I sure hope the car has been retuned If not, it wouldn't run very smooth and could be the exact reason it is so slow! I'm not 100% on this, but crossing the line in third at 6300 RPM could mean you have the 3.31 rear gear.

Is this a manual or a auto? Auto would come with 3.31's in 05 but I think you'd have to request 3.31's in a manual car because, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't '05 manual's come with 3.55's standard?

well..

first off. 2.1 60' isnt all that bad with stock tires.. its a manual so i think it does have 3:55's in it. just dont know why my speedo is off. i just need to learn the ins and outs of the 3v. any insight will help me , and i truly appreciate all your imput.

3.55's if it's a manual. Before I got my 4.10's I was crossing the traps RIGHT before it was about to hit the limiter I had set at 6200rpms or so.

If your car has headers and an intake, you need a tune ASAP. You are probably running way lean. With shorty headers, off-road h pipe, and a cai I hit a 12.9@108 on stock tires. You should be in the mid to low 13's with your mods.

Thats what i thought. My thinking was the guy who origanly put mods on this car did it when he first baught it. Thinking its just like any other stang. Not knowing that with every mod you need to adjust the comp. Im going to get the x cal thorugh brenspeed. I hope this will take care of it all. Thanks for everyone that helped. Yeah, something is definitely wrong with your tune. 2.1 is not a great 60', but it's not bad enough to keep you in the 14's. In my 07, I was running 13.7 and 2.1 on stock tires with 3.31's, intake, tune, off road H, and CMDP's.

Your RPMs and speedo are definitely off. With 4.10's and basic bolt-ons in my '05, I just ran 13.0@106 and crossed the line at about 6400 RPMs. I'm running 28" tires, also, but still. In my '07 with 3.31's and 28" tires I'm crossing under 6k and running 13.2@105
