new to ford, help me decide on 2 mods!

ok for my 2005 gt, am i better of with a bassani x pipe or with a mac prochamber? i am not going to change the stock cats yet. which is going to sound meaner? i have the flowmaster axleback. now as far as a tuner, should i get the diablo, or the xcalibrator? i plan on doing intake and headers as well. thanks a lot for the help!

Forget Mac.... Do the Bassani X Pipe and C&L Intake with a Diablo Sport Tuner. Great top of the line products, Bassani will sound meaner and last longer.

Listen to different exhaust setups before buying one. The differences in HP gains between the different aftermarket units are minimal. Find one that has a sound that you like.

A Pro-chamber has a different kind of sound. Hard to describe.

Listen to Cleveland's setup.

There should be a few more exhaust clips on here. Do a search.

yes that exhaust sounds very good, but it is going to be too loud once i put headers on. is the sound from the prochamber like the flowmaster metallic sound, or is it more like the straight muffler sound?

Yea headers and SLPs will be freaking loud.

I've never heard a Prochamber on an '05 GT. I've heard them on other mustangs though. I had one on my Cobra briefly. Going from my stock h-pipe with 4 cats to the Prochamber with two cats the Prochamber sounded hollow. It lost almost all of the bass. I guess the Prochamber sounded more like a muffled X-pipe (quieted the hard edged tone of the X-pipe) than an H-pipe. The catted Prochamber was quieter than the 4 catted stock H-pipe. I didn't care for it and switched back to the stock H-pipe.

Hopefully one of the '05 owners with experience with the Prochamber will chime in.

If your going to install the C&L Cold Air Induction Package, you will need the Diablo Tuner from them as well that has a tune specific to their Cold Air. You do not need to tune for the exhaust. Diablo and the Excalibrator are both great tuners, and both give you pretty much the same capabilities. You just need to find a dyno near you and use what they use.
