Well, they wouldn't ALL, for some strange reason, have the same VIN since Ford only made a few of them???? Is there a Cobra R registry where you could find out?

I know what VIN stands for. I deal with those every day. I just find it a little crazy that the two vehicles, being both rare Cobra R's, have identicle VIN's.

I don't find it crazy. I believe that there is only ONE car in question here......

Man, this thread is an urban legend come to life. No two cars have the exact same number by law. I personally think 302efi is being taken for a ride by old man in Chicago. He probably went to this ebay auction, snagged the picture of the VIN sticker (which can be found on the "Click Here for More Pictures link on the auction), and sent it to 302efi. When it looks too good to be true it probably is.

302efi - If you're seriously considering buying this car, you should ask the owner to take weird pictures and e-mail them to you. Say you need specific pictures of a certain part of the engine bay or something. Any picture that's not on eBay but couldn't be any other car.

Hey baseman... Good eye!

The door panel sticker picture that 302efi received from the "seller" IS the SAME picture as the one on the e-bay listing under the Click here for more Pictures link.

Something is "rotten in Denmark" here guys!

302efi... man, be careful proceding with this "sale". For sure don't send this guy any earnest money up front or fall for any such other request for up front money that he might make.

I would specifically ask this "seller" why the VIN on the car that he says he is selling has the exact same VIN as the vehicle for sale by Global Import Cars on e-Bay. And why the pictures of the door panel stickers are exactly the same picture.

Then sit back and wait for an answer. I suspect that it is going to be either some BS or a quick hang-up when he realizes that he's busted.

This just looks more and more like some scam artist running a con.

Wish it wasn't, would have liked to see somebody score a Cobra R for cheap.

Thankyou Stangnet!!!!I knew it, something was funny about this chit. The "old guy" I have been Emailing is a mutha****ing lie. Now I see why he didnt have any pics or anything. I did ask him to take a vin pic for me ( I was assuming he would take pics of the car also ), so I could see what the hell I was buying. Kinda ****ty, he just took a God dam pic off of Ebay I am looking for a SN-95 Cobra for a daily driver and when I saw the ad for low mile cobra I was stoked. Then when you all were saying this might be a Cobra R, I was ready to deposit $10k into the guys bank account on the spot. I wasnt even figuring the AC or the back seat into the story for my baby when you guys were saying Cobra R, I was just thinking: Cobra R..$10k...Cobra R..$10k

Well thats why I asked the questions for you guys to check in the first place, Thanks StangNet.

It's still ****ty though, people that lie about waht there selling and try to scam people should be shot in the head.
