It still has the cats on it and the o2s. I think the only mod is the cat back exhaust. I'll check the gears, but I'm pretty sure they are probably stock. What were the gears that came stock in the 5sp GT's in 03? Thanks a lot for the info. The cold air intake was pretty much just for looks. I really like the ones that use the stainless/chromed piping.

Welcome to the site.

Stock gears are 3.27:1

Stay away from chrome "cold" air kits.

OK Thanks. I just liked the looks of them. Also when I shift into 2nd from 1st it has like a weird feel and noise. Like it doesn't want to go in, and then just pops in. Is this normal for this model of 5sp or is that an indication of something that needs to be adjusted? Not real familiar with 5spds.

Your shifting may improve by draining and refilling the transmission with the correct amount of new transmission fluid. From a Ford TSB published July 20, 2004:

"Fill the transmission with 3.0 liters (6.3 pints) of Motorcraft Mercon ATF (XT-2-QDX). The full fill level is approximately 19 mm (0.75") below the fill hole. Note: shift quality may improve further with break in, approximately 644 kilometers (400 miles) of driving."

Your shifting will improve dramatically by replacing the stock shifter with a good aftermarket one.

Thanks for the info on the shifting problem. I may check that this weekend. I didn't even think to check that since is had such low miles. This is my first 5sp so I'm new to troubleshooting them.

do yourself a favor. spend like 100 bucks more and get the accufab plenum and t/b combo instead of the cai. it will add some kick to the car and it looks good.....polished.

You'll soon be addicted to modding the car after you get your first mod. Be careful as this could lead to problems with the wife

Yeah I don't think she wants me to do to much. That and I still have the IROC that I need to work on too. I always wanted to be the guy that had so many choices! Too bad I don't have the $$ to go with it.

I'll check out the plenum. I haven't looked at any of those yet. Everything under the hood is still stock. What about underdrive pulleys? Do they give you much bang for the buck? I know I've seen a lot on Cobras, but not as many comments on GT's
