Hello! New member here. I’m MystifyMe. I inherited an 86 Mustang Fox body ragtop with fuel injection and new stereo with woofer speakers. I am in need of a new battery but not sure what to get! Any help is appreciated! Was my late father in law then passed down to my late husband now mine. I had it out like 5 years ago but not since. Looking to get it out and about again just need guidance.

If the battery is in the stock location (driver side under the hood) then the stock battery is a Group 56. As far as brand of battery all my fishing buddies just get Walmart brand batteries so that is what I run in my truck. My Mustang has an Optima side post but all the battery cables are hand built so way different than your car.

Welcome and good luck!

5-years. That's [pump all the fuel out of the tank] before you try and start it, years.
