I dont understand the amp specs of this audiobahn amp i want

AUDIOBAHN 1200 WATT HIGH CURRENT AMP

MOSFET POWER SUPPLY

1 OHM STABLE

CHROME

CHROME FLAME OVERLAY

REMOTE BASS CONTROL

VARIABLE BASS BOOST AND SUBSONIC FILTER

VARIABLE HIGH / LOW FILTER

THROUGHPUT RCA CONNECTIONS

4-WAY PROTECTION

DUAL COOLING FANS

BLUE BACKLITE VU METERS

FRQ RESPONSE 10-40,000 HZ

DOUBLE SIDED GLASS EPOXY CIRCUIT BOARDS

1200 WATTS X 1 MAX

600 WATTS X 2 @ 2 OHMS

can some one help me to understand these terms better? is this amp over kill for my 2 seater f-150?
1200 WATTS X 1 MAX

600 WATTS X 2 @ 2 OHMS What does this stuff mean?

Amps specs can be confusing and somewhat intimidating, but don't get lost in the numbers. Too many people get hung up on specs that are completely useless in the real world. Arguing over a few thousandths of THD is really quite silly, but I hear it all the time...

Hope this helps:

MOSFET: Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field-effect Transistor (design of power supply found in most car audio amplifiers)

1 Ohm stable: measurement of an amps ability to perform given a specific impedance (electrical resistance of load)

Chrome: bet you got this one

remote bass control: amp will accept a remote (wired) control to allow you to adjust the bass level (gain) with a simple knob from the drivers seat.

variable bass boost and subsonic filter: think of bass boost as an equalizer with only one slider. You pick center frequency (variable part) and raise/lower level to your liking. Filter cuts off the lowest bass, often helping your woofers to operate with less mechanical stress.

Thru-put RCA: allows signal to pass through this amp to another without being affected by the crossover or boost functions.

protection: keeps amp from most likely thermal, over and under current, and dead shorts. keeps amp from failing (hopefully)

fans: bet you got this one too

VU meters: pretty lights, indicate voltage while operating

freq. resp.: measures the operating range of audio frequencies for the amp. Note that human hearing is generally accepted at 20-20000. electronic circuity is capable of performance well beyond our ears capacity.

power ratings: amp will do 1200 watts into one channel (think one speaker), and will split that into 600 watts into two channels (two speakers). The choice of speakers will affect this (see impedance), such as DVC woofers, number of woofers, etc.

Kinda long, kinda vague answers I know, but I'd be happy to expand further on anything you'd like to know more about. I'm not too familiar with audiobahn products, as I've steered clear of them for the most part. Most people seem to feel they are long on looks, short on substance. Plenty of people will tell you they are quite happy with their product. I can't make the decision for you, but only try to help you be better informed to make your own.

Well, it would depend on what you'd be using the amp for. What is the complete set-up looking like?
Depending on what you'll be running, it could be overkill, just right, or not enough.
