Well I just bought a 1998 mustang gt for $9000 with 41,389 miles and black leather interior. The mods are as followro 5.0 shifter,3.73 gears, aluminum driveshaft, fms shorty headers,hi flow x pipe, flowmaster 2.5" catback,2" lowering springs, kyb adjustable stuts, bbk caster/camber,kyb adjustable shocks, bbk cold air intake,70mm throttle body, tinted windows and clear corners. The car is white and mint condition! It has a brand new motor and transmission from ford under warranty with 11,234 miles on it. I bought it off my buddy who is a mechanic at ford. Im the 3rd owner! What other mods wake these cars up? I sold my yellow 94 and pocketed some cash! MORE MODS NOW...

99+ 4.6L's had the PI Heads and associated wiring. Do a search in this forum and you'll find a lot of information that might help you out

yeah it has the pi heads I just called him! I heard the 96-98 heads were weak of power? I was thinking of underdrive pullies? I did own a 96 gt awhile ago and remember how slow it was compared to the 5.0. I'll do some searches ....

yea the 96-98's were low powered compared to the 99+'s. you could get the pullies and grab a few more HP and that would be a good place to start.

What was the horsepower on the 96-98 vs. the 99-04? I know the 03's have 260hp.

With the Pi heads and those mods you are easily at 245-250rwhp.. maybe more. You may want to get a new CAI.. BBK's aren't the best and with those chrome pipes you can loose hp when it gets hot in there, especially if you have a bend. Go with an intake plenum too.. Everyone has C&L, but I decided on a Dragon 75mm from www.dragonperformance.net It has a very unique design. They put down very similar numbers. Also, you want to match the plenum with a 75mm Throttle body.. I just ordered mine from www.rdmrdm.com . Ronnie Diaz is a GREAT guy to do business with.

Also, if your car isn't chipped, I'd consider doing a dyno tune especially since you have PI heads that the stock computer can't competely optimize for. I have an autologic chip and its nice to have the car tuned optimally for timing, octane, air/fuel ratios etc..
