I would head over to the 1965-1973 Classic Mustang general talk area and dive in. Do some searches. If you don't find the answer start a thread about your specific issue.
Just start a thread at the above link with some pics and a description of what's been done to the car and mention the problem with the wheel adapter issue, the members will help you out.
