I just bought a 78 mach 1, was a 302 auto, now no motor or trans. I have an 84 5.0 aod I want to fit into it. I know the motor mounts are different, and I need to do some tunnel work for the aod, but what really has me baffled is the oil pan. I don't have the stock one, what pan do I need to make it work?

You need a II specific oil pan. Yeah, some modify and make others fit but there isn't anything direct fit aftermarket. The pans are had to find and not cheap. If the motor mounts were left in the car the 85 will drop right in, I have a 83HO in my King (ordering crate motor soon)). If you don't have the factory V8 motor mounts, good luck finding any cheap- another thread was started after this about someone who has V8 motor mounts. .
