I just purchased an 02 GT. It has 80k miles on it.

I've been on another board. It seems to have some knowledgeble guys and some kids.

With 80K I was thinking I'd get some gears, a o/r H pipe, and throttlebody plenum combo and leave it at that for now and then focus on the asthetics. (cobra front bumber, cowl hood, shaved cobra rear bumper, lower it, 18 inch bullits, new paint)

Then I was going to Get a forged short block from MMR, headers, and a Kenne Bell S/C.

Needless to say this is going to be a project that takes time as I don't have the $$ to do it all now. But does this sound like a good game plan???

You'll find that around here that you will need bullit wheels, a mach one chin spoiler, Ford Racing 4.10's and no other brand or they will whine, clear corner healdights, a cowl hood, SS bumper inserts, bilstien shocks and struts, maximum motorsports LCA's, and subframe connectors, MAC or Flowmaster exhaust products, since they are basically the cheapest crap ever. Headers are fine, but not shorty headers.

You'll also find that if you have any rim that is not mustang specific, you'll be frowned upon (almost any rim). A cold air intake is pointless and no better than the drop in K&N you'll eventually buy. Underdrive pulleys aren't worth a penny. HID's are acceptable only if you don't blind other drivers, and no more than 6000k is acceptable.

I'm leaving something out, I can't remember.

Id do performance before looks. You dont want to have a car that looks fas and mean but cant run like one.

I look completly stock except for my chrome rims. My car is a sleeper except for the blower whistling.

You're pretty much looking to do what I've already done. You're looking at about $6500-$7000 not including the paint and rear bumper...

I've got:

3.73 gears
O/R H-pipe
Dynomax mufflers
Accufab plenum w/ 70 MM TB
Cobra R bumper
Cobra R hood
Eibach Pro-kit lowering springs
18" Saleen's

Here's my parts list: http://www.03sbgt.com/Mustang_Modifications.xls

Great post -
Do we even need a forum, or should we just have a checklist?
