Hey guys. Fun night. Sitting around the couch said to myself hey its friday! im going to the track. Flew home threw the slicks on and i was already late but id get a few runs in. Drove out to the track. Managed to get three runs in.

All ive done to my car since the last time I went to the track was exactly this; new alternator, bullet mufflers, take off a/c(short belt), and I added a cd player and speakers.

The first run, I didnt have a tire pressure gauge so I didnt know what the slicks were at, car ran a 2.1 60' with a 13.6 at 101MPH!! Before I could just not break 99, and those 3 things gave me 2MPH!! Unforutnetly I wasent prepared and I had no traction. Borrowed a tire pressure gauge and found out they were at 21psi! Lowered them to 12.5psi. Next run I got a beautiful 1.8 60' but missed 4th, did bad, Last run, got another awesome 1.8 60' but again missed 4th. I even tried not pwoered shifting the last run and it still didnt want to go in. Im getting a new shifter next because this is unacceptable. I know I can hit low 13's now and I finally got the 2 more mph I wanted just from a short belt, 40lbs off the front end and new mufflers. Ill go out there again with an mgw shifter and maybe hit 12's, cant wait till the heads are on!

Update: videos
first burnout

2nd burnout (couldnt get tires to spin)

2nd run

3rd burnout

3rd run
http://media.putfile.com/3rdrun1

Heres the pics, we got a crapload of pics, but ill just post mine and a few others for now.

Heres the first run burnout

Heres the first run with the 2.1 60' you can see im getting no traction even in the picture

Heres after the 2nd burnout the car came back down, looks like its crushing the wheels, ouch.

Heres the 3rd run burnout, I liked it

And here is my favorite pic, wheels ALMOST off the ground

And I just thought this was funny. This badass supra came up to the line, did a sick ass burnout, left the line flying and then just shut down, something broke, so the supra pulls over to the side, turn it off, you see a door open. And all of a sudden this HOT ASS chick comes out in this cute little outfit, looks at the crowd and kinda gives alittle shrug. Everyone starts cheering like crazy you see old men with their video cameras just zooming in on the chick it was funny, heres the pics.

Yes the chick did this!

Here they are pushing it back.

And see that cute blonde? thats her.

All picutres were taken by my buddy with his Canon 20D, with stock lens, and the night pics were taken I think with a 50mm lens or something.

Ill get the videos up alittle later. Enjoy

Yea I think it was an s10 i would have destroyed it but I missed 4th, I still beat it by like 2 car lengths.

Slicks are alittle old, so I bearly slip the clutch at around 2000, its more of a slow clutch drop, but mostly around the 2000-2500 area, I may try 4kish area next time but I dont think they will hook.

my dad took me to a parking lot.(thanks to whoever told me i should ask him cause it worked) and he let me try some launches in his 86 and well

first time tried at 1,800 ok launched fine no spinning

second time tried at 2,200 launched horrible. i dont know if it was because i really got on it that time with letting the clutch drop really fast or what.

third time(this was fun) since we had the old tires on it. 9.5 rear tire. he told me to warm the tires up started with a burnout in first then let of the brake and turned it and went around 3 times or so. spun the tires real quick to clean them off. and launched at 2,200 again and they griped really well. what made such a difference was it by just warming the tires up or was it i may have let the clutch drop a little smother? or maybe both?

anyways. i love drag racing and it sucks because there is only one place we can go that will let me drive the car on the strip.

whoever advised me asking my dad that...thanks it worked.

how long till the videos up.

would my 76 cobra make a bad drag car? with a 351W and a C4?

Street tires dont need to be heated up, it was probably all in your footwork, just takes practice.
