Sounds like you've got a nice track We don't get ***** for traction @ our local track.

How was the weather BTW?

(And it's not "stock" if it's got an intake and a tune)

WTG Charlie! I knew after I drove it that it was a strong runner. It definitely gave me a new appreciation for the autos! I can't wait to see how it runs when the weather gets better!

He said it was all stock with a JLT and SCT tune.

These GT automatics are a lot quicker than most expect them to be, but with 5 forward gears they have similar gear spacing to their stick shift brethren.

For a little more grunt off the line (60'), and through the 330' and 1/8 mile, may I suggest 4.10 gears and/or a bigger stall converter. My '07 GT AT is "all stock" on the outside, but I have 4.10's, 3800 rpm stall converter, and DiabloSport "firm shifting" tune. No airflow mods of any kind. 60' times are in the 1.83-1.89 range (consistently with drag radials), 330' times are in the 5.4 - 5.5 range, 1/8 mile times in the 8.4 - 8.5 range, and 1/4 mile in the 13.3 - 13.4 range with a best ET run of 13.280 @ 101.92 (best mph was 102.92).

I was thinking the same thing. I went out and did the 4.10's on sunday and the car definately accelerates quicker now. I will be going back to the track this week.

What kind of tires did you have? What gears did you have? What was the weather like and what track was this?

The reason why I am asking is that it seems unlikely--not impossible-- that you would run a 13.3 in an automatic with those mods unless you had drag radials on, 3.73 or 4.10 gears, took weight out of the car or ran in favorable weather conditions. I have a 2007 GT automatic with stock 3.31 gears, Corsa Axel-back exhaust and a CDC Shaker Hood. And with Superchips 91 Octane tune or Bamachips 91 Octane Race tune, my best times density altitude correct to 13.4s. I might be able to run a 13.3 if I caught good weather that mimicked below sea-level conditions (negative density altitude).

I had the stock 3.31 gears, stock pirelli tires and the weather was low to mid 80's in epping, nh. I did a 2.019 60' time. I took no weight out of the car. I had the spare tire in the car, and I have the shaker 1000 also. The car weighs 3,808 with me in it. I think the car could of went a little faster.

First off I would like to say, density altitude correct is not a time. I had the stock 3.31 gears, stock pirelli tires and the weather was low to mid 80's in epping, nh. I did a 2.019 60' time. I think the car could of went a little faster.

The best I have done in the 1/4 mile is 13.682 in 70 degree weather. My best 60' time is 2.052, done last week with a new Bamachip 91 octane race tune and a tenth of a second faster than what I did with a Superchips 91 Performance tune. Density altitude corrections aren't a real time but they level the playing field because they factor in altitude, temp, humidity and barometric pressure on a given day--all are important for how well the engine runs. Density altitude corrections also don't error in your favor. My best times all correlate to lower density altitude figures but they all correct to 13.4s. I have been told that the major car mags all use density altitude corrections for their 1/4 mile times.

At least your time is more believable than the 19 year old kid on Youtube that told me that he runs consistent 13.2s in a "bone stock" 2007 Mustang GT.

Yep, it is believable. You had a density altitude that day/ time (Aug 22 at 7:23pm) at New England Dragway of approximately 192.9 feet (or lower). The temp of the time of your run, however, was low 60's (62.6 F, Dewpoint of 53.6 and Barometric Pressure of 30.12 at 6:55pm). At 7:55pm, your density altitude lowered to 52.3 feet. Your density altitude corrected time was 13.368 @103.03mph at 6:55pm, 13.388 (sec) @ 102.938 (MPH) at 7:55PM with 60.8F, Dewpoint of 53.6 and Barometric Pressure of 30.24.

See the truth detector: http://www.smokemup.com/auto_math/corr_get_da.php

The elevation at New England Dragway is 90 feet, almost sea level. My track (KCIR) is 800 feet. I would have to have 40 degree weather with low humidity to get similar density altitude figures. Trust me, nothing makes more of a difference on 1/4 mile times, especially for an automatic, than density altitude.

So am I allowed to say stock except instead of with Mobil 1 Oil, and a K&N air filter or is that another hair to split?

As long as it is a K&N filter and not a K&N CAI, I would call it stock.

To me a drop in filter is not that much of an on track gain. I mean what would that net you...a few hundreths?

I have a K&N filter in my factory air box instead of Motorcraft and K&N claims that their filters provide a 1-4hp increase. So if you use the "for every 100hp increase, you gain a second in the 1/4 mile" theory, yeah it would probably amount to a few hundrenths of a second difference.

Just corrected my times(using my quickest run with coresponding MPH, not best of each). Uncorrected it was 13.345@104.11. Corrected that is 13.17@105.45.
The day is wrong It was on a Sunday(22nd), the 23rd was a Monday. Somebody in the tower got out of bed on the wrong side
