Yep i beat'em to it.

Like someone said, i like the fact it don't need million other little stuff like bullitt intake, and also the fact its from the reputable manufacture.

I'm soooo buying one when it gets released. they better have polished option too!

why? so we could spend thousands of dollars to get less than 300rwhp?? :rlaugh: our motors are a joke :rlaugh:

U know this statement is so true.

How much does it take to turn LT-1 to push 300RWHP?
Full exhaust, tune, and camshaft(which is 1000times easier to install then our car). thats like $1500 mods for them?

How about LS1? 400RWHP+ is really like full exhaust, cam, heads and tune away?

How much it takes for us to get to 300hp?
Cams(and 1000times harder to install then lT-1 or LS1), P&P heads with srtonger valve springs, full exhaust, and tune.

Sooo thats like $600 for cams, $1500+ for P&P heads, another $500 for valve components, $400+ for dyno tune to get close to 275+RWHP.
Another $700 or so for full exhaust. And may be u'll go over 300hp by horse or two? which most can't afford, so we go dick wround with pullys n' intake elbow and TB and gets excited over 4~6 hp gain.
Streetstang is right. I think we all got shafted by ford...

DOHC engined mach 1 should have came out as GT back in 99...

the only way we'll ever make big N/A power with the 4.6 is using a BB rotating assembly, or maybe even a BB/stroker... then run your ported heads w/ oversized valves, agressive n/a grind cams, full exhaust and this trickflow intake and 350rwhp isn't too hard to reach. But hopefully this intake doesn't just add 8rwhp at 10,000 rpms like some other product's that currently comprise our pathetic aftermarket.

one way or the other you are going to get a motor good to over 7 litres.

so for now 4.6 2v is at the bottom. 300rwhp has to be good enough. look back to my posts when i started this board.(the ones that make sense). you will find me preaching about cubes baby. show a little patience and 6.2l to 7+ litres is just months away. one thing we can count on is pickup truck's getting big motors.

my personal hope is that it fits inside my compartment. wilkepedia says ford claims the boss/hurricane is expandable to greater than 7 litres.

mark my words... if it fits it's going in mine. then laugh at stupid LS. with their small motors. no stinking pushrods.

Cams, PnP heads and FR500 intake with various supporting mods on a DOHC will put u darn close to 400rwhp N/A if not more, it is costly though. With these small displacement modulars seems more cost effective to just slap on a blower and be done with it. It's not really like the old days with the 5.0 where with a decent set of heads, a nice cam and intake manifold you'll be seeing serious gains, but that's a whole other discussion.

Couldn't agree with you any more, I might not have traded my '02 GT in for a Mach if it had come with the DOHC, should have been the GT motor all along or at least an option, especially after the LS1 came out.

damn...got an issue of a mag 2 months in advance (one is usual but 2?) lucky :p

im excited to say the absolute least. "early 2007" isnt that far off. if only my car can hold off till then :)

i wanna see some numbers!

Anyone notice the part where it said high flow fuel rails will be released at the same time. Whats that about... that worries me. Sounds just like the P51 where you have to spend another 300 bucks on fuel rails (that dont need upgrading) because you need them to use their intake.

Hopefully not.:(

I'm with you 007. Either way, I bet we have more info during or after SEMA that is at the end of the month. Maybe someone who will be at SEMA can do some snooping and some question asking to see if we can get more info! Either way...I'm cautiously optimistic about this intake, even if I'm a bolt on N/A car. :nice:

I'm with you on that.. I can't stinking wait for that engine! I swear I'll get a second job so I can at least get that engine in my car, can't wait for the wife to finish college :P . I have to spank my brother in his stinking GTO

MM&FF is going to be doing 400hp N/A build-up for 99-04 GTs. I know I'll be keeping a close eye on the article...of course who know who much money they'll drop into it.
