I'm not sure of your spare parts or mechanical ability, but if you have a spare distributor try putting it in and see if it starts, and how it runs. That's where I would start.
I havent tried that yet, I have a spare laying around brand new. I'll give that a try thanksI'm not sure of your spare parts or mechanical ability, but if you have a spare distributor try putting it in and see if it starts, and how it runs. That's where I would start.
Ok so far, checked timing it was good, checked compression, vaccum and rockersWow. Wasn't expecting all that. One engine I built had a balancer on it with timing marks on both sides (180 degrees apart). Somehow I got the timing on the backside marks and it was 180 degrees off. It did a lot of what you are describing. That's the first thing I'd do no matter how much you think the timing is correct. It doesn't sound right to me. Do one thing at a time and post exactly what you do and what happens. If you need step by step timing instructions maybe @jrichker can post his timing list.
Yea I have checked that one to many times but I'll make sure again, after I put new dist in!I'd verify that your dist is pointed to the #1 cylinder on the compression stroke and not 180*.
Let us know what you find out!I'd verify that your dist is pointed to the #1 cylinder on the compression stroke and not 180*.
