Hey guys. First I would like to say thanks to those who helped me get the right dimentions for the setup. Second, I know I'm missing a center cap, the mo-mos at Sears are looking for it. Third, they put too big a sidewall on the fronts, the current setup is 18x8.5 in front with 255/40/18, and the rear is 18x9.5 with 285/30/18. Sears is working on bringing in a pair of 255/35s for the front to even it out a bit more. I'm starting to get used to and really like the setup. I also tossed on a Bullit hood blackout for the time being, although I'm working in a deal for a shaker some time next week. Let's hear some feedback boys, I want to hear what you think. Oh, and the handling/grip gains over my stock size 245/45/17s is amazing! :nice:

Nice!!!!:nice: The wheels look sweet, but the rear tires need more sidewall. I would keep the fronts the way they are, but the rears need to be bigger, like a 285/35/18....I like the rims because they are different, but I gotta be honest, Im not big on the spoiler, but to each his own....

Man, I like everything about the car, except the rear rubber. I think the fronts look great; the rears need to be a tad taller, or the car needs to be SLAMMED around the tiny tires. I think the wing isn't all that bad, and it sort of goes with the look of the rest of the car. Way to break the mould!

Thanks all. I honestly kinda like the smaller sidewall rear tire, and am hoping to match the front closer. Also, about slamming, to be honest, I was looking at my car, and decided it does need to be lower. Not exhaust scraping low, but probably Eibach Sportlines low. I think that would tighten it up. On the spoiler- when the car finally has it's final look, it'll look more appropriate.

Dude- it looks sick- but there are some things that need to be worked out. you have to run ATLEAST a 35 series tire in the back- thats a must no matter what kind of combo you plan on running.

Secondly- i can tell your car is lowered, and if you would just run a 295 35- it would totally totally change the rear fender gap- by a lot.

Those tires- man they just look bad ass

Sears sucks big, but despite being idiots, they are cooperative. I don't think a 295 wide tire is considered a safe fit on a 9.5" rim. And again, I really hate the way the taller tire looks on the front. You have to see it in person, but these rims NEED a low profile tire to look right. So I'm going to keep the 30s in the back, because I think 40s all around would look like crap. If I get the 35s up front, it will lower the nose 10mm total, 5 for each side of the sidewall lost, and it will drop the nose almost an inch (13mm= 1 inch). I think then, it will look right. And I do want to lower it a bit more, not a ton, but maybe coil-overs or sportlines down the line.

this aint no damn lexus- Mustangs NEED a sidewall- it gives it the muscle car appearance, and that tire doesnt look like it can handle torque from a drag launch. heck it doesnt look like it can handle full throttle on the highway.

TRUST ME- don't keep that 30 profile in the rear.

For one- IMHO which isn't worth jack- it looks stupid retarded.

secondly- You NEED sidewall if you plan on doing ANY sort of real driving. drag racing on 30 profile 18s, DOH!

The rims /may/ look a little better with a smaller profile tire- but so does every rim. The CAR will look better with a higher profile tire.

Another problem you've got now- that we probably cant even see in these pictures, is that your rear end - notice it or not, sits lower than the front. Lowered mustangs tend to do that as is, and now you added to that by like an inch. The rear fender gap hides it in the pics, but in real life, standing behind or in front of the cars sides, you have no rake- infact you've more than likely got reverse rake because your using SMALLER THAN STOCK tires in the rear.

What you NEED to do- is slap a 285 35 in the back of that. thats the ONLY tire IMO that will give you a nice look with those wheels. Why? because its 3/10 taller than stock, and wider, and will fill the wheel well because although the car will raise a bit (not very noticable, but enough for a rake) the car will LOOK lower because the taller tire is equvalent (as far as the wheel well is concerned) of lowering the car another 1.3 inches! AND the rear will be 3/10 higher (meaning atleast even, if not a rake)

1) I know the rear sits low. I am not happy about it. As I also stated in my last few posts. Read the text before the pics.
2) They do NOT make a 285/35/18 KDWII. So it's not an option
3) I don't drag race. Not a fan of going straight, doesn't take as much skill as cornering and going fast. I'm setting up for auto-cross and road race.
4) lowered mustangs gain rake, not lose it. Take a look at Epik's car in his sig for example. Stock cars sit high and flat. Lowered cars get a 'stance'

Now:
I took a long look at the car. I realized the reason the fronts look too fat is because the rears are too skinny. Way too skinny, way too much fender gap. I went to sears, told them to cancel the new fronts, and to order me 285/40/18 tires for the back, the ones I originally walked in there trying to get, that they said it didn't exist. They said they'd get to work on it. Atleast then it will pick the ass back up, even off the sidewalls, and give me my rake back (I had a nice one going before). I basically had to go with the best they could offer me at the time, and that's why I am where I am at. Like I said, they are idiots, but they are cooperative.
