New wheels and tires. PICS!! 56K destruction!

On another note, they can't find my center cap. They said they looked everywhere and it's gone. So now I have to figure out if these things will take an OEM center cap. I'd like to either get the silver Ford Racing ones, or the black ones with the pony and tri-bar. Anyone know how I can check if these would work?
Thanks!

Make those SOBS find you a center cap- don't give a damn what the sticker on the door says their not responsable for. Those things are pretty pricey for what they are.

Who told you that you dont need a sidewall to autocross, or road race? if anything- thats when it really matters. I'd be hoping i had that sidewall when your negotiating a Heel & Toe at 100 MPH and start accelerating out of that corner. All racing takes skill- i think NASCAR is stupid, and does require less skill than Rally, or Road, but i know if they put me on that track, i wouldn't do very well. I do alot of drag racing...because its cheap- i go road racing once a year and it costs me 300 dollars, when i can go drag racing the whole season and not pay that much.

The rear...285 40 is like putting 295 30 20s in the back. The tire size 90 percent of people on this site run on 18x10 (from what i've seen) is 295 35. the other 10 percent run eithe 285 or 305. at 295 35- the tire you chose for the rear is going to be over 1 inch taller! I've seen this size on s197s. I've considered the size because eibach sportlines still leave a pretty good size gap on the rear of new edge mustangs. 285 40's are really going to fill up your rear fender gap, but I don't know how it'll look- if your kind enough, please post a picture after you get it. I've always wanted to see that size on a new edge.

Yeah. I'm trying to figure out if the aftermarket OEM style caps will fit, but I don't want to buy a set, have 'em not work, and then be stuck with a $75 center cap set I can't use.

I hear that man...when I bought my FR's they had those "M" centercaps that I immediately replaced with the tri-bar pony ones. If you want I can send you one of those "M" ones to test fit? I don't need them anyway...maybe you could rig the OEM size to fit somehow.

sears should take care of the center cap. I purchased a set of wheels through a place not sears but they could not find my center cap. they at first told me that I would have to contact the company myself but after I refused they took care of it for me. I am sure sears would have a better shot at getting a new one then you would. car looks good by the way. and I kind of like that wing.

Man, people need to lay off the wing. I know it's loud right now, but when the car is done, the whole car will be an attention grabber, and it'll work. I don't want to be like everyone else, either with a Termi (no offense Epik), Saleen, stock, or wingless look. In person, the wing is actually bitchin', and more functional than any of the others out there. It was designed for competition, not looks (even though I love it). Give me some time guys, and you'll see.

really? I kinda like it alot lol. Once I have more of the black detailing I am planning (wing, rear taillight panel, rocker stripes, hood Boss style) I think it will look better. Plus, I want side exhaust, and it'll look good with those stupid skirts you have to put on to cover the factory cutouts.

I see the look you are going for & once u get the rest of the stuff on there, the wing will go with the look...are u going with Roush side skirts & the rear valance, that will look good with the wing & wheels, & maybe a Saleen front bumper??

I agree, I think your car looks nice too man--nothing wrong with being a bit different as well! :nice:

An 01 Cobra bumper is a good choice too, I have loved mine!

Yeah, speedytang, try and stick your hand out the window at an angle the next time you're on the highway. All that force pushing it down? My wing does that. The wing extends beyond the width of the cabin, and the endplates gather up air. Like I said, it was designed for competition, by Steeda. Every little bit helps, adding a few pounds of downforce to the rear isn't a bad thing for stability.

Well, I got the new 285/40s out back, and I'm happy with them. They do look 1000 times better. What I'm not happy about is sears has now managed to damage the crap out of the other rear rim (they damaged one the first time around). They gouged the crap out of the lip with the mounting machine, it looks like wicked curb rash in like 4 spots. I talked to the store manager, and I'm going to have them buy me new rims and then get the tires mounted on somewhere else to make it better. I'm pretty peeved that they managed to trash two different rims at different times, and weren't really going to do a thing about it. The department's manager basically said that waiving the restocking fee on the WRONG tires the mounted up on the back was his way of making it up to me :fuss:

Anyway, pics with the new rear tires. Atleast I got my rake back...:
