Just wanted to post up some pics of my new wheels I got! Hate to say it but I had to go JDM for them They are SSR Varden Sport Schwarz. The fronts are 18x8.5 the backs are 18x9.5. I absolutely love them. Let me know what you guys think?

Ateup - funny you should say it looks like and rx7 the guy i bought them from ran them on an rx7 and a cobra lol

N8dogg - Thanks a lot man! They look so much better than the old silver 5 spokes lol

Do you guys think i should try to go a little lower? I think I might go in and remove the rear isolators. the fronts are already out.

you can definitely go lower. 1/2 - 1 inch tops, would top off the look of your car

Thats kinda what i've always thought. It's got pro kits on it now with no isos in the front. I'm gonna remove the rears also to see if that helps. If its still not low enough is it terrible to cut aftermarket springs? I have adjustable Tokico D spec shocks that I could always stiffen up some if it would help the ride. And as far as ride quality goes its not that big of deal. my old car was dropped a lot on cut stock springs and would bounce all over the place lol.

I wouldn't cut the springs if I were you. Instead, try to find a set of H&R supersports or the Eibach sportline. Springs are a relatively cheap mod anyways, so you'd likely be able to find a set for around $250, then once you complete the swap I'd bet you could sell the pro-kit for at least $100 to make up some of the difference.

another thing i was wondering is if anyone ever ran tein springs? I saw a few sets on ebay for around 200 and they are supposed to be like an 2.25 inch drop?

Never heard of them, but I'd stick with a brand that has proven to sell quality products. Seriously if you cannot come up with an extra $50-100 to get a set of quality springs from H&R or Eibach, perhaps you should wait a while and just save your money. No offence intended BTW

no offense taken. I think tein is bigger in the import world than in the mustang world. I'll start by pulling the rear iso's first then I might check with him to see if he still has those H&R's. I'll probably pull the iso's here within a week or two cause i need to roll my fenders cause i keep rubbing when i come in and out of my driveway. so i figure that would be a good time to go ahead and do that.

Thanks for all the compliments

I also have a question about coilovers. A bunch if my friends drive imports and they said there is a way to basically convert your adjustable shocks into a coilover set up. They called them springovers? I didn't know if this would work on our cars or not. I know nothing about coilovers really so I thought I would ask?

Don't listen to your ricer friends... no offence, but it sounds like they don't know chit about cars. Perhaps they are talking about some fake chrome spring that attaches to the shock/strut so it looks like you have coil over springs, lol.

Seriously though, Maximum Motorsports sells high quality coil over kits if you are thinking about upgrading. I don't necessarily think you need a coil over kit unless you plan on auto-crossing your car frequently. You can make a Mustang ride and handle very well with some relatively simple suspension upgrades, such as lowering springs, new performance shocks/struts, panhard bar, full length SFC's, and CC plates

They know quite a bit about what they are talking about I might not have explained it right lol. I don't really plan on auto crossing it I mostly just want it for the stance lol. I just was wondering if there was a way to get it without spending a ton of money lol
