Newbe finds "mexican" block a few questions *pics added

Hello, I am new to the forum, from focaljet.com, and have a s/c Ford Focus. I just bought a 89 lx. To make it short I know a guy who knows a guy that wanted to get rid of his 1970 Ford van. For the hell of it I went over too look, and sure enough made in Mexico. I bought it for $150, and took it apart eveything looks good including the cylinder wall's, but the pistion say 040. I guess that means it has alredy been board out? I want to build a 331 , so am I screwed since it is already board out? I heard a 347 is hard on the rings becaus of the rod angle?

if it really is bored .040 over but the cylinder walls are in great shape, just a hone job would do...

Any pics of the stang and the SC focus? Esp the Focus, how fast is it?

Agree with Boss 351. If the walls look like they are in good shape, a good torque plate hone job will suffice. The longer stroke on the 347 can cause issues, however I believe the newer 347 pistons have the wrist pin set lower in the piston which helps reduce stress on the rings. I purchased a '71 Mexican 302 and bored it 010 over and stuffed it with 331 internals (actually it is more like a 334 or 335) with the 010 bore.
