Thanks for the reply. Also, is $23500 for a 2005 Black Mustang GT with 2100 miles a good deal? Thanks.

No, this is not a good deal.

You can buy a new 07' 5spd deluxe for close to that price! $20,000 is a little closer to good deal.

As far as resale, I don't really know of any cars in this price range that have great resale values.

A new 07 gt for around $23500? It says on kbb.com and ford websites that they are selling for $27,000.

I checked the kelley blue book prices on 2003 mustang gts with around 68000 miles and they sell for $15,000. What are some things I can tell my father to convince him?

Re-sell was one of the reasons I went with the V8 Stang.

You will LOVE it. Gas mileage varys due to driving conditions and how YOU drive it but on the road I have gotten 25 to 28.3 mpg. I have the automatic and could drive ALL day long and not get un-comfortable. I have sometimes gotten 29 mpg. Haven't played alot with the mpg feature either...I quit checking on it after awhile. Hope this helps your decision.

How the hell did you manage 29 mpg? Under what kind of conditions and speed? I'm not doubting I just want to know. The best I ever got in stock form was 25 mpg on a cross country trip which brings me to my next point.

I drove my car from Sacramento, CA to Columbus, GA and a few months later I drove all the way back! It was a great drive the entire way and more than comfortable.

The "sweet spot" for gas mileage in these cars is 55-60mph. My experiences on the highway from Houston to Baton Rouge (about 300 miles) at 80mph is 23mpg.

i also got 29 mpg ONCE. it can be done, just not every time. it helps to keep your foot out of it when entering the highway or interstate.

My 07 GT-CS is very comfortable. Ya, it's loaded up but I've driven a friends bare bones 07 Gt and it's just as comforatable. I scored VIP tickets to the Phoenix Nascar race in Nov. I worked until 2:00 pm Saturday. Hopped in the Mustang and made the run to Blythe that afternoon/evening. 570 miles and was still fresh when I got there. I think the stability and control is a major factor. I've driven many "cush-mobiles" and they tend to wear me out faster. They soak up the bumps better but I always felt like steering shaft was made of rubber so that you were constantly having "herd" the car back on line. The Mustang is direct, just point it and it goes where it's supposed to with very few corrections necessary.

Gas mileage, 23-26 mpg running 75 to 80 most of the time.

I was cruising at about 55mph dry, clear day...straight stretch on highway and decided to hit the button and see what it was going to reset at. It reset at 29 mpg., so I hit the gas up to 60 mph and it dropped to 26 mpg. . I haven't had alot of the problems with mine that others have had. The Shaker stereo is about all. I did have a little of the "hesitation" problem last summer, but it stopped doing it so I haven't taken it in for that, just figured I might have had some bad gas and going to see if it does it again. Love road tripping in mine too.

That must be the msrp.

If he searches around he will find a better deal! He could at least buy a used 06' for that now. Just trying to help him out.
