I recently bought a 95GT. I'm looking to make some mods but don't know where to start. Currenty it has 4.10 gears, H pipe, and K&N air filter. What would be a good starting place to increase horsepower?

If its an auto, maybe a converter, shiftkit, if its a manual, you could look into an intake manifold, I felt a nice gain when I added mine (back then only had gears, headers, h pipe, flows)

it's a 5 spd. Thinking about putting in a shorty shifter, i know it doesnt increase horsepower but have heard it gives smoother shifting.

short shifters are nice, I don't have one but I have driven cars that do...although I personally prefer to get the engine where I want it before I do stuff like that so I am gonna reccomend that you go with a tfs street heat or edelbrock performer and a 70 mm tb and c&l 76 mm maf...with all that you should see a nice gain in power...I would say a good 35 ponies or so...that is about what I saw...
