Hello All,

I just wanted to introduce myself. I am new to the forum but not new to the Classic Mustang hobby. Here are some pics of my newly acquired 69 Sportsroof. It is equipped with a 351 Windsor and automatic transmission. It obviously requires some work in the engine compartment, but a perfect car to enjoy while fixing up.

The engine looks like a 351 cleveland (not a windsor) to me.

Cleveland valve covers, & looks like the radiator hose is on the block not the intake. You may want to look up the differences between the two if you are not familiar with them and confirm which you have. The 351c is a better engine anyhow IMHO. Here is a link to a site describing how to identify which you have.

Very nice mustang, I'm sure you will have a lot of fun with it.

It's a Cleveland, look at the upper radiator hose where it goes into the engine.

Hi-Jack note: Put the Cleveland heads on the Windsor block and make a stroked Clevor.

Nice car! Laser straight body, that's nice to start out with. But is that an LH mirror on the RH side ? I see you have the rubber strip across the radiator support. 351W didn't come with that, so either you got a big-block car, or maybe it's an 6-slant car. (I think some of the I6 cars had that rubber strip, not sure) What does the engine code say ?

I think the canted valve cleveland head design is far superior to the windsor style valves.

The 4v Cleveland heads flow more air than the Big Block 427 and 429 performance heads.

Pretty easy to make 400 crank hp with stock cleveland 2v heads, much less the 4v heads.

Also, I'm kind of partial to Clevelands because I own a Boss351, and I like higher revving engines. The cleveland is better looking than a windsor too
