Ok, driving around last night and the A/C is cutting in and out. Rather it gets cold and then just blows straight vent air and then gets cold again. Starting to it think it's the compressor going cuz I'm smelling burnt electrical when suddenly, smoke is pouring from the front of my hood so, I pull over in front of the local ricer hang out at a town gas station. :notnice: Boy how embarrassing, but these guys are cool. They ask me if I need any help and I just say, "No thanks I'll keep my A/C off and let her cool down," and be on my way. Nope- crank er up and then standing back in front of my vehicle- I start getting a nice hot coolant spay from the overflow bottle cap. Ergh! Ok so it's the car overheating that's got me stuck in Ricer haven tonight. :bang: Most of em look under the hood of my Mustang and wanna walk away cuz they've never even seen a V8 setup much less the aftermarket stuff we use so they're not even really in the ballpark of wanting to guess what's wrong. I figure it's my thermostat and it's stuck closed. The burning electrical smell is coming from the coolant getting on the electrical parts of the fan. :nonono: Anyone else with that consensus or any other thoughts? Thanks in advance! :)

When that happened to me it was just a hose that broke. It was replaced and it fixed it right up.

Might Be the WOT (Wide Open Throttle) sensor. When it senses you flooring it the disengages the a/c compressor. If it is messed up it could possible for it to effect that thinking that you are at WOT... I am not sure but could be something to check.
As for the overheating, I don't know... I would start with the t-stat, I think you are right about it being stuck...
