Random real update. I finally fitted the nose back on the car. These things dont really fit worth a shyt, do they? I got it decently lined up, and only have minor tweaks to make down at the bottom of the Cobra lower bumper. Sanding the body line off the side of the Cobra bumper left it thin, and you can see a line where it shows. Gotta add some PBA on the back of the bumper, and probably a little filler to the outside. Then I will sand the rest of the silver on the car, tape it off and spray it all.

Thanks Dave. I think Im going to like the finished product as well. Wasnt sure at first, and still have some tweaks to make, but its coming along well.

what's not to like? That looks better than any version the factory originally installed, and it finally carries the same skirt height (off of the road) that the rest of the car has.

That looks really good. Excellent decision to maintain the separation with the molding. I can't even see the difference in the curve radius when it's installed. That's going to look amazing once it's painted. Excellent work!

I like those attributes that you pointed out, but I need to get the sides of it in check. It bows out at the bottom in front of the tires. I need to make some brackets to attach it to the fender down there, as well as trim the underside of the bumper to relieve some binding. Then the shape should come out nicely. Still not sure about attaching the lip. That will make it an inch or so lower than the rest of the car to the road. When I put the bumpers together, I didnt think I'd use the lip, so I didnt accommodate for it.

Realistically, next summer works for me too as I wont get all the optimum parts this summer anyway. Hell, I may get the E7's off and find the shortblock to be junk, we'll see.

Kinda like what MadMike b itches about. I never did or would have taken my '11 to a show, even despite spending $7k modding it to my taste. But when I see a Fox rolling down the road, its truly more of a unique sight these days, at least where I live. Two very different kinds of cool, for sure.

I am no @Davedacarpainter , but I used some duplicolor "perfect match" paint along with their clear coat and painted my '83 scoop just now. Of course mine has some bugs on it that his doesnt, but one day he will paint my whole car, so its good enough for now.

Not sure if I will get the silver lower portion of the car painted this weekend or not. I have a rear bumper project to do first, so we'll see.

Be advised though. Perfect Match is lacquer paint. Keep solvents away from it...it wont like that if that happens.

I know so little about paint that I assumed any solvent on any paint is bad, so I think I am good as far as that goes.

Just got the yard mowed, and weeds sprayed. I think I am going to go start marking, taping, and cutting, but not before I enjoy a cold one. As far as Im concerned, that is a must after mowing.

Thank you. I am slowly getting there. Trying to decide how to shape my rear bumper, and then still have to sand around the lower half of the rest of the car. Today I happen to have a couple prior to mowing, but that was after moving a friend's couch into her apartment. I generally keep a 1 beer for every 30 minutes of labor kind of routine.

Speaking of which, it is Bud Light thirty right now. I just finished changing the serp belt tensioner, and both leaking power steering lines on my wife's Chrysler Town and Country. I friggin hate working on vehicles with sideways mounted engines, especially when it comes to accessory work. But its done, I have showered, and am now enjoying a beer or 4.

I managed to get the rear bumper trimmed, cut off the ends of my crusty old factory tails, and cut my rear springs down. The springs are the right height, but I cut them in a bad place so they dont actually rest where they are supposed to (hard to explain). Seems like its putting strain on my axle, and pushing it back as you can see in the pic. So I guess that leaves me having to buy springs at some point. But then I'll want control arms... And while Im there, shocks too. Grr, wish I woulda just paid attention and cut them in the right place. Anyway, pics for tonight.

Anyone need some gently used GT tail pipes?

My hood scoop is not very glossy and kinda orange peely (just sitting on the dusty hood atm). Gonna have to try some super fine grit on it, and polish it. Still havent tweaked the front bumper into place yet, but I only have so much time with the newborn. We are slowly getting there fellas!

On another note, I found a pair of rear springs on Ebay. There was a Buy It Now option, or Make Offer option. I made an offer $10 under the Buy It Now price, thinking its reasonable if they are considering offers. The seller counter offered for their Buy It Now price... Why the F would you put the Make Offer an option in your auction if you wont even come down a $1? So I kindly counter offered back at $5, lol. People these days, I tell ya.
