I was just wondering about how you NOS guys activate, safely, you nitrous kits. I was thinking have a switch that arms it, then a full throttle switch on your carb and maybe a nos window switch so your not melting tires off the line, like say come in at 3000k to 5500?

The last nitrous system that i hooked up was like that, acceapt we also had a small red switch on the shifter handle which had to pressed WITH the full throttle in order to activate. I guess over safe lol

So you had 4 switches:Arming, full throttle, window switch, and shifter button?

Yes, but the shifter button really isent neccasery, just one more way of keeping an (accident spray) from occouring lol, also if you have any other accesories like a purge (usually a button). or a bottle heater which is another switch. if you had a remote opener you could just wire that to the arming switch.

I personally run an arming switch, and then a B&M momentary switch built into my T handle shifter. From what I heard, a WOT switch sucks on edelbrock carbs, because the secondaries usually bog off the line which would cause a lean condition and heat up. For a holley on the other hand, a WOT switch is more practical. If you do run a switch for you self to toggle on and off in the cockpit, make sure you go momentary. As many have told me....its all for safety. Imagine an intense detonation at high speed, and have to struggle to flip your switch off. With a momentary you take your finger off and the nitrous is off. If your looking for cheaper "gone in 60 seconds" style switches, Check out 12voltguy on ebay. He built me a Aircraft toggle switch to arm, a momentary to purge for 40 bucks. Good luck.

Mike

So your suggesting a arming switch then a button on the t handle and thats it? I was thinking a arming switch wide open throttle, and a window switch with like 3k-6k? I use the button on my t handle to operate my line lock.

Way to much security in my opinion....I personally run the above and am pleased with the set up.

Mike

ps if you go to 12 volt guy, he can build you a panel (for cheap) that will accept momentary or toggle switches for your line lock, nitrous arming, purge, activation......whatever you want.
