Hey guys I wanted to know if there is a nitrous cam out there for our cars. I wanna do nitrous 100 shot plus a cam. I was initially going to get the stage 2 comp cams but I heard a buddy mention nitrous cam. So I'm wondering where can I buy one if it exists. If not then what cam would be best for a nitrous set up. Thanks for the help.

You don't need or want a "nitrous cam" for a 100 shot.

Oh really? So a regular cam would suffice.

Yup, a nitrous cams are more for people using nitrous on their drag car that sees spray every run each week.

If you wanted to upgrade just look at cams as if you were a normally aspirated motor. The nitrous would just add to the kick.

Well, its not 1 cam. Its two cams, and yes the stockers will be more than fine to run nitrous.

It would be WAY WAY WAY too expensive to get a nitrous-ground cam for a 100 shot only. If you built the motor to handle a large shot of nitrous, then yes.

For now run a 100 shot, if you feel that you need more, bump it up to a 125 shot.

With a good tune and a motor in good health you can run a 150 shot if you are still needing more.

Depending on the specs of the cam, you may or may not need new springs.

I havn't really seen any nitrous specific cams for sale for the 2v crowd, probaly something that if you wanted to do right to get a custom grind. Expensive, but it would be done right.

If you didn't want to do that, I'm sure there are some cam's that arent nitrous specific, but the specs may be nitrous freindly more-so than others.

If that is what you really want to do, then you should go for it.

Its just my opinion that it is not worth the money and hassle for the cams on top of nitrous, when you are still limited to around 400rwhp on the stock short block if you want any kind of life in the motor.

You can easily get to that mark with a hit of nitrous alone.

Yes you need springs with stage 2's, but like Burining said there's not really a reason to go at cams when you want nitrous as you're limited by the rods with the power you can reach. And a stage II cam is pretty drastic regardless
