NITROUS GT-40 QUESTION............

I have a 89 gt and i want to keep it looking relatively stock looking.So my idea was to port and polish a set of cast gt-40 heads build a bulletproof rotating and then like a 300 shot do you guys think this will work good???

dont know how much those heads would like that much nitrous......and lets say you did do a 300shot? you better have a nice block in there

Think about good valves too, other wise they start to cup under the heat.

300 shot?

Good god man!

A 225 shot is a VERY big hit of nitrous that guys with aftermarket blocks/forged rotating assemblies are known to run...and I wouldn't try this for long on a stock 5.0 block regardless of what's inside it.

Let alone as 300 shot!

there are plently of guys that run 300-600 shots on aftermarket blocks, it just takes a little more work (muliple stages, progressive controles, dedicated fuel sytems, a lot of money, etc)

see i'm new to the whole ford small block thing i'm used to running big block chevy's were it takes a lot to hurt a block.....this car is strickley a weekend car i'm only going to run it on the street so maybe a two stage 175 first and second and then move up to 300 half way down???????????? and should i fill the block with something???

Haha. Factory 302 blocks aren't exactly a BBC..

Think about putting nitrous valves in the exhaust side of those heads. To take the added heat. Intake valve are constantley being cooled. For your information it is not recommended to exceede the 500 hp point with a stock block. That being said i have seen stock blocks take more hp then that its just a question of when will they crack not will they. i thought that you only want to run a nitrous hit around half as much hp as the engine makes alone. So on juice you are talking about close to 900 hp. and i do not think that a set of cast gt-40 heads would support that kinda power. i know the block won't for long.
