I was talking to my freind and told him , i finally got Notrous, then he told me, that everytime i spray i will take 4000 miles away from my engine, i didn't say nothing but i think thats is it ?
so in my case that means i took 200,000 miles off of my motor:SNSign:
9 bottles x 50 times sprayed roughly x 4000 miles = 200,000 k
that means my block would last to atleast 311,000 miles (i have 111k now)
Nitrous isnt the BEST thing for your motor, but as long as nothing goes wrong you are fine. Everything will either work really well or blow up really bad
Absolute garbage. With that logic I could spray a 500 shot on my brand new motor and I would be good until I got up around 150K which is when 5.0s typically need refreshning
Nitrous increases cylinder pressure, just like any other power adder. It is all in the tune, however, a nitrous controller would make the power more "engine" like, so the trans and pistons don't get a shockwave of energy, but that still might be insignificant.
Nitrous injected properly is no more detrimental to an engine's health than any other means of making power.
My bone stock 95 5.0L engine has 90,000 miles on it and has had multiple passes and street runs on a dry 125 shot during the past two years. It's fine, and a compression test just showed that all of the cylinders are between 135-144 (seven of them between 139-144), typical for a 5.0 with this mileage- indicating no excessive wear due to the nitrous.
Gotta chime in too. I didn't start spraying mine till 125,000 and when I tore it down at 160,000 it still looked brand new inside. I didn't even do the bottom end. It still had good compression and oil pressure so I started bolting stuff on. At 170,000 now and it is still strong! I used the zex dry kit and loved it. I only sold it to start the bank for a 331 stroker to bolt all of my new parts on. Highly recommended!
