Nitrous question..

I'm not looking to run some really high shot or anything but, I am considering a very small shot for those moments when I want just a little more on tap.

I'm a little uncertain when it comes to nitrous kits in general but, I am aware of typical options associated with them. I only realistically want a 50 shot at the most. But, naturally, I'd want it to be as safe as possible.

My car has approx. 54k on it and I haven't touched it in years (as far as mods go). So I've gotten a little used to it's output to the point where it feels a little sluggish at times.

So, I guess my actual question is, what's out there for something like this? I know I'd have to get a tune for it but, that's ok. It's not like I'm trying to run a 150 shot or anything.

Thanks in advance.

nitrous question

Hey, redfire i have a 2000 gt with a compucar wet system, and it is jetted from a 50shot to 175 shot and i use the 90 shot on the street and track.Complete kit from jegs is about 459.00 to 599.00, but it was a cheap way to get extra horse power. Also recommend changing manifold, because plastic one will not handle it.Also get a tuner too, anymore question feel free to write back.

Once you spray the 50, you will probably want more :D

Anyway, you will want a window switch and fuel pressure safety switch. A bottle heater wouldn't be a bad idea either. You don't need to have the car tuned for a 50 shot. I would have the AFR checked if you spraying 75-125 though. NX is a great company to deal with. Great customer service and product. Just read up on nitrous before you get into it :nice: . Nitrous is as safe as the user makes it. So don't listen to people that say you'll blow your motor (and you won't if you have the right setup).

I would really want to get a WOT switch, too. I more so want the power on tap. If I'm flooring it, I'm flooring it for a reason. I am a bit worried about the A/F ratio but, I guess I could always throw it on a dyno and check that out and make sure. If I remember correctly, I was running lean as is with my set-up, so that's why I'm a tad hesitant.

I am leaning towards NX in general. Mostly because they're a familiar name and they rate their kits at the wheels. So I take it a wet system spraying in before the throttle body will give the mixture more time to atomize and less of a chance of detonation? To me, that would almost suggest spraying it right after the maf.

I have the C&L True Flow Pipe at the moment and it has a bung that can be tapped but it's perhaps a few inches before the throttle body at best. I'm not sure if that would be the best spot to spray or not.

Thanks for the info so far, guys. It's been helpful, keep it coming. :)
