Nitrous wet/dry

Can anybody explain the difference between a wet and dry nitrous kit. What is the most common for a mustang, and which is the safest.

dry system rely's on the fuel system of the car to increase the flow of fuel so that the air fuel mix stay's in the proper range. A wet system adds the amount of fuel with the nitrous that the nitrous shot needs in order to maintain the afr at the proper amount. A wet system is better and safer.

True, through it is a LOT more complicated. The most common you'll see is a dry kit. Thats mainly because it provides a substantial gain for a minimal investment (compared to a wet kit). If you want it done right...do it wet

If you have an adequate fuel supply system (larger than stock injectors and fuel pump), go dry, it'll hit so much harder. Of course, I should also mention you need a good tune, check your plugs and watch your timing.

Wet is safer and both are very easy

I would say that a wet kit isn't harder to install then a dry kit. And it is the right way to go. Buy a wet kit and do it right the first time.

wet kit.thats what i used to run and loved it.just make sure everything is sealed good with no leaks.

iv got a question about all this what timming would u all suggest running while spraying or for even that matter not spraying

Most people can get away with about 14 degrees off the bottle, when running spray it depends on how much you plan on running for how much you will need to retard it.

I would try to get the timing advanced to 14* NA and then drop 2* for each 50hp of nitrous. So if you run 14* NA and have a 100 shot then run 10* when on the bottle.

To the original poster I prefer a wet kit, preferably the plate style that goes between the upper and lower. The only real problem with a nozzle or TB plate wet kit is puddling fuel in the upper intake and then a backfire. The upper works great at flowing air but not so well at fuel. If you do decide on a nozzle or TB style plate kit use a window switch so that you do not engage the nitrous below 3k rpm. This will keep the fuel from possibly puddling.

Whichever way that you go you WILL enjoy it.

I would always prefer a wet kit. Now if the car is stock or maybe a few bolt-ons a dry kit would be just fine if you are wanting to save some $$. I have installed several wet and dry kits and they are both very easy and straight foward to do.
P.S. if you don't get any other accessories at all for it make sure to get a window switch!

yes i would run 10 degrees make a run and see if you can put 1 degree back in and make a run. i have heard latley nitrous users have been retarding 3 degree's for every 100hp shot.
