Hey gang.. I'm considering going the nitrous route. I'm doing some research but I'd also like some input from actual Stang riders... I have a 96 GT AOD... Looking forward to your feedback... Thanx

I'd say it depends what kind of mileage you have on the car, if its got high miles I'd say definetly no cuz you already got a tired engine and you might as well plan on that thing grenading or something later! Unless you plan on a rebuild of the engine I'd go with some PI heads from a 99 and up for now that will make a huge difference! By the mods you have upcoming the 4.10's are a great choice and LT's with those PI heads will be a much safer alternative to Nitrous.

The PI heads are the factory heads on the 99+ alot of companies sell them, check Foxlkae racing, livernois motorsports, houston performance, ford modular powerhouse should get you in the right direction. But I'm sure you can shop around some more and get a really good deal. Yeah with 80K I wouldn't but if the motor has been well maintained is problem free you could but I think your taking a bigger risk. The heads gears and LT's and then get a good dyno tune and maybe some cams and your gonna be alot better off!
Eventually look at the tranny and get a torque converter that will wake your car up big time

Doing the PI headswap will net you some good horse-power but its allot more expensive. if your willing to throw down the money i would do the swap but if you want the best bang-for-the-buck go with nitrous but dont go overboard keep it safe with a 75 shot and get a RPM window switch to make sure your spraying at the right(safest) RPM.

What navarro said get all the safety stuff rpm window switch, fuel pressure switch and a good tune. I think the head swap is still abetter piece of mind Nitrous can be run safely and nothing go wrong its usually when people get greedy with the size of the shot and not updating fuel and stuff! I haven't checked into the headswap price, but you can search for some heads 99+ at salvage places.

Thanx fellas.. So the PI Heads are simply the heads off of the 99+'s huh? I didn't know that.. Is this a direct swap or does it require some fabrication to get them to install? I am going to go with the head swap, gears, cam and dyno tune because nitrous has always worried me.. Besides I want my power to be constant.. I'm trying to find a place that does good dyno tuning here in Michigan but I haven't really found one yet.. Thanx for the leads too...
