What all do you need to safely run nitrous on a stock GT mustang? Just so you know..mines a 2002. It's a daily driver..and I'd probably just be spraying on the weekends at the dragstrip. I want like a 125hp shot so I can run low 13s/high 12s. But..I also wanted to get a supercharger later down the road. Would it be possible to have a small shot (maybe 30hp?) in place along with a centrifrugal style supercharger? I don't really know much about nitrous..so if someone could explain somethings to me..that'd be helpful. Thanks.

to safely run nitrous youll need a well kept motor, good fuel system, and some colder spark plugs. a safe shot is 100 and 125 is borderline. ive been running nitrous for 2 years and only had 2 backfires that just blew off some vacuum lines(my mistake). just change your fuel filter every 10000-12000 miles and run a tank of the highest octane you can as well as some octane booster. once you hit the switch on the boost is insane. :nice: :hail2:

I just installed NX Plate kit, it works great. If you want al the safety goodies just buy NX gen X2 kit it covers pretty much everything except the window switch. I would also look into getting some type of tuner or a flip chip so you can adjust the A/F ratio. I was lean on the first dyno trip since the install. Then I went with bigger injectors and a new fuel pump so hopefully that and a new tune will fix it all.

With a 100 shot good tires and some practice you should run mid 12's easy.

75-100 shot is relatively safe, but 125 may be a bit much.
Tyler is correct a 125hp shot maybe too much. You should
start out small with a 75-100 hp shot that will be alot safer on
your powdered metal rods and your pot metal pistons. Also you
should think about getting a tune too be alot more safer on your bottom
end.I would go with a 75-100hp (wet) shot of Nitrous Express with
all the saftey goodies! :nice:X100

I went with zex, 25 hp increments from 75-150. I would get a FPSS (fuel pressure safety switch) retard the timing a few degrees, run colder plugs, and get a wideband commander if you want to be 100% safe (well as close to 100% as you can get with nitrous).

sorry to smash the thread, My buddie has a 97' gt , 103,000 miles CIA and O/R pipe with magnaflows and wants to run Nitrous , what could be a safe setup for him, The car purrs like it has 50,000 miles very well kept up, very very well...

ive got a buddy who has an 02 gt and has been running a 125shot on his car as long as i can remember.. i wouldnt trust more than that good ole plastic intake. and i know someone with a 96 gt with 125 shot on bone stock motor no problems
