Anybody who's running the Nitto Drag Radials on a daily driver......How bad are they at picking up rocks and junk off the road? Any worse than a regular radial for getting flats?

I have heard that the stickier the tire, the more nails and such they'll pick up, and I have heard someone specifically complaining about these tires for that.

nittos do last longer on the street than other drag radials but still it is a drag radial and will kick up a lot or rocks
I will find out soon, Im about to get some used nittos with about 1/2 tread or so mounted on my ponys

WTF are you talkin about?? There "AWSOME" in rain!!! There a better all around tire then the Sumutomo's I had on before that.. They last for 15,000+ miles and have "great" road manners!!!! BUT,,,,they pick up every little rock,pebble,stick,ect.,,, that you run over.There very noisy in that aspect,like a marble machine in your back wheel wellsScorcher2005 said:

Having just had them (buying another pair this week) they are pretty "slippery when wet" and like to hydroplane and get squirly compared to my regular radials of the same size. You have to be careful or just watchful...
They do pick up rocks/pebbles a little bit...but nothing major in my opinion. Pebbles stick to the tire a lot when you go to park the car you will see it.
I got about 7-8,000 miles out of them so far (bald) but I drive semi-aggressive

I also have nittos, and I think they are awesome in the rain, they do pick up just about everything on the road, but Ive had no problems with flat tires with them.
As for wear, they have been on since march and still have good tread, this is my only car driven to work 5 days a week.
Although they are not very great at the track, in my opinion, I would use the nittos for the street and some ET Streets for the track.
Overall, best all around drag radial on the market.

IMHO if your car is 13 seconds or slower they work great at the track.You just have too work a little bit and see what kind of burnout works best for you.For me,a 1st gear burn until they start to smoke works best for me,then they hook up perfectAliate X said:
You can over do it though,so if you have no-one to help you open your door and watch..,,,,5spd its your first set,I gauruntee your next ones will last alot longer because now you know them a little better.Plus you have between 300-350rwhp so yeah there gonna break loose a little easier in the rain then mine For a stock motor there "great" in the rain..Similar threads
