NO FUEL FILTER

I was under the car the last night putting in some home made Battle Boxes and noticed there is no fuel filter looks like it was just takin off and bypassed. Shouldn't it be on the underside right in front of the gas tank? I couldn't find one anywhere. I noticed when i got the car the guy gave me a few spare parts one was a new filter maybe he planned to change it and couldn't find it either. How can I hook it back up not sure which hose is inlet or outlet?

it should be exactly at the area u described...the filter will go on with the flow or arrow pointing towards the drivers side and then there should be 2 hoses which have white clips on them which you take out put the hose on the filter the push the clips back in becareful you dont break the clips they hold the hose on...you cant confuse the hoses because its simple. One hose on each side they wont reach around and interchange just make sure the direction of the filter is right....Since you said he bypassed it..how what did he put between the hoses?? or were they replaced with one line?...maybe the previous owner mounted and inline filter somewhere else under the hood..

There are just two hoses with hose clamps on them running to the fuel lines to the front of the car. I couldn't find a filter anywhere under the car, I looked a little under the hood I'll check better later. My main question is trying to figure out which is the inlet and which is outlet. Guess i could always unhook them and turn the key if I want drenched in gas.

Nothin under the hood and threre are no white clips on the lines for the filter. The filter i bought has some clips, but it looks like i'm gonna have to use hose clamps. The reciept to the filter was in the box looks like it was bought clear back in 03. Guess I'll just have to pull the lines by the tank and figure it out.

ok the line coming out of the tank...closer the to rear passenger wheel goes on the inlet side of the filter the line closer to the driver rear wheel is the outlet b/c its running out to the front of the car....im not sure if connecting it then puttin hose clamps on will keep it from leaking but i would try..some1 for some stupid reason hacked the **** out of that..they were obviously to lazy to replace it when its actually less time consuming and beneficial to replace it..is the bracket there that holds it at least?

I think the hose clamps will be of if i put them after the lip on the ends of the filter. The line has hose clamps in a coupe other places and doesn't leak. I don't know why anybody would take it off either. Nothin to gain that I can think of by doing it. Yea the bracket is still there.
Thanks for the help.

Wow,I can`t believe the previous owner would remove and bypass the fuel filter. That`s crazy.

Best to get one in there asap.I hope it wasn`t run too long without one.

There are fine filtering screens in each fuel injector, but you don`t want these injector screens to become restricted.
